The only thing he should say to Skankey and Foley is:

LSU is willing to play Florida in Gainesville on October 29. We will play on our open date. No other options will be considered by LSU. So you guys do whatever you have to do to make that work.

We are available to play anytime any place, but will not cancel any home games

Agreed. LSU has gotten the shaft and will continue to get the shaft from B'ham regardless of playing ball with them or not.

Make a stand for LSU Joe!

I think Alleva should take the high road, and simply say:

"We will play this game in Baton Rouge."

Then say nothing else

If Skankey gave a shite about what Alleva has to say, LSU would be playing football right now.

Alleva allowed the SEC and Florida to pancake us. He needs to go before he fricks up another hire!

Oct 29
1st weekend in December

Otherwise f-off and if it's Alabama and Florida in the championship game I hope sankey, sec, and Florida get hammered in the media.

If this happens I will for one time in my life swallow my pride and say ROLL TIDE.

It sounds like that's what he's been saying. Otherwise, I think the game would have already been scheduled on 11/19. Florida would jump at that opportunity. We're the only team getting the shaft in that scenario.

You realize Florida has to be there for us to play them, and only Sanky could make them.
What could Joe do besides make ourselves available to play any day and place this week? He let it be known loud and clear

He could have, no he should have, been in front of a mic Tuesday or Wednesday shaping the discussion and not allowing LSU to be shaped by the discussion.

It was obvious to anyone with any PR smarts by Wednesday what the Florida game plan was, but Alleva had his head stuck up his arse and allowed Florida and the SEC to get away with their BS.

How many times has hurricanes struck during the SEC football season and how many SEC teams had to cancel a football game? These clowns are acting as if this is all new to SEC football.

There is NO reason this game couldn't have been played Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

I don't blame Alleva for the SEC fricking this up, but his waiting until Friday to speak only shows, once again, that is in over his head,

If the game is not played October 29, there needs to be an official declaration of a Florida forfeit. They had their chance to play this weekend and chickened out.

I upvoted you FWIW.

However, I think he should have put pressure on Foley by throwing our the term "forfeit", and suggesting that UF's refusal to play should result in a forfeit if the game is not made up.

Obviously. These clowns were foley and Sanky though, who Alleva has no power over whatsoever.

Alleva made arrangements to have the game played that UF refused, he let that be known as well as the fact LSU would play any where any time. UF and Sanky are getting ripped by the media. All Joe could do

He didn't cuck out, he called them out. Even calling Nov 19th proposal a "flat out lie."

Agreed, but Florida was using the excuse of "safety". I also heard Sankey say that he believes the threat to Gainsville was worse than the threat to Columbia at that time. Now, that's complete bull shite, but what can Alleva say to remedy this? Florida said that they would not be able to guarantee safety for a game this weekend. They also used the "player's family's" bull shite. I mean, he could say "Make Foley play this game NOW!". What do you think this would have accomplished? Alleva could do nothing in this situation other than offer what he could, and he did.

What could he have said to the media on Tuesday? "We need to play this game this weekend, NO MATTER WHAT!". Good luck with the reaction from people getting ready for a hurricane. Good luck with the media reaction. Now, the hurricane turned out to be a dud and Gainsville was barely affected, but that was not the case at the time. We would have been looked upon as careless idiots.

Florida held all the cards. Florida was going through the hurricane. If you want to say that Sankey views Florida in a better light than LSU, I'm with you. If you want to say that Sankey and Foley fricked us, I'm with you. If you want to say that Sankey may not respect Alleva enough to listen to him, maybe. In that case, maybe we need to find someone that Sankey likes.

But I honestly believe that there wasn't much more Alleva could do in this situation. It could have been the man who said it that hurt us, but it wasn't what was done or said.

Alleva can threaten this all he wants. That doesn't mean Sankey has to obey it.

I agree, but Sankey will never approve this.

Anyone blaming Alleva for the game not being played this week is pretty fricking stupid IMO.

Could he have been more agressive in blaming Foley/Sanky? Yes

Could he have been less agressive in blaming Foley/Sanky? Yes

Neither changes a damn thing this week, not at all, zero chance.

I think he made his point while remaining professional. Who is the media going after right now?
But all of that is still irrelevant to whether he could have made UF and the SEC make this game happen this week. He could not

If Alleva had said that Thursday or Friday the game would be scheduled for today or Monday. Foley would've had to act.

What?

Alleva cannot schedule conference games. The SEC office does that, run by Sanky

Why? Is that a rule? Or is that something Sankey has to approve?

I guess I have a hard time understanding why that puts pressure on Foley. I think instead it makes us look like idiots throwing around shite we can't enforce.
