To each his own but I enjoy sitting in the location I selected with the people around me. Not to mention I also enjoy my priority for selecting other tickets over non-season ticket holders. I also consider the cost my part to support the athletic program I enjoy.

Yep. IMO, they wont be worth the investment until the day teams are mandated to only play power 5 schools.

Was a very simple way for season ticket holders to sell their tickets for face value. Sure lsu took a chunk of the sale, but it was still convenient

Dude, season ticket holders with good seats can't get a fraction of their money for the games they do not attend, and often have to give away or eat the "shite game" tickets.

I love when people bitch about not being able to sell their tickets. Like it's a right or something.

There are tickets for $22 on stubhub right now. Is this really that expensive?

Not tickets.. Ticket. Singles are $22 at the very top of the Pmac in the corner or behind the goals.

For LSU to continue to offer their fantastic one of a kind marketplace and not sell out to stubhub.

But money talks and I'm sure stubhub paid a lot to be LSU's official resale site.

LINK

quote:

In Louisiana, reselling tickets online for above face value is legal if – and only if – the venue gives permission. And according to Brian Broussard, LSU associate athletic director for ticket operations, the University gives ticket-holders no such permission.

“Our stance is that we don’t allow ticket resale for any of our events for over face value,” Broussard said, “whether that’s online or in person.”

But monitoring every aftermarket ticket isn’t just difficult; it’s practically impossible. While LSU encourages sellers to use its own exchange, LSUTix.net, to sell their extra tickets, many head to StubHub – and other third party vendors like it – to make more off their seat.

Funny how things change.

Just don't go. If enough people would not use the ticket maggot sites they would die. I am proud to say that I have NEVER used them even though I can easily afford to do so.

Season Tickets are a terrible investment

Absolutely! My investment dollar goes somewhere else, this is my entertainment dollar. If you thought buying season tickets was an investment.....

I think it's a good thing for buyers and sellers. A centralized marketplace will lead to more sales volume at a "true price". For years, I've been amazed at buyers looking for tickets in TD Ticket Exchange that didn't know about LSU's Ticket Marketplace.

One huge thing is that, as an official partner, sellers can now input the UPC number off of their tickets for electronic sale on Stub Hub. (I verified with Stub Hub.) Sellers will benefit from not having to make a UPS trip and buyer's will save shipping cost. Makes for easy sales and deals to be made right up until kickoff/tip off/first pitch.

LSU made a butt load off of fees

This. The tickets on the exchange may have been listed at face value, but the fees LSU charged were outrageous.

The ticket marketplace used electronic delivery as well.

Heck, this last year, I couldn't get close to selling the Auburn tickets for face value, and with TAF fees, the real cost to me was 2.x times the face value.

The stadium expansion was the killer. For parking and for attempts to sell your tickets.

Season ticket holders will probably only be able to sell their Bama tickets for the real cost (or higher), but the reason one gets season tickets is to go to such games.

Fans like you suck. Your season tickets aren't an investment.

This is sad. This was the only way I could afford football tickets. I guess it was fun while it lasted. I'll have to root from the couch or tailgate now unless I can find someone selling them somewhat close to face value, which doesn't exist on stubhub

ETA: I'm assuming this will eventually happen with all sports, but I could be wrong. Hope they keep it in place for football

Exactly. That's why I'm able to pick up tickets on the west sideline for below face value to SEC games and next to nothing for OOC games.

Really?

I pay 300 total for 3 tickets. Non conference face value on my ticket is $3. $16 for UK and about $8 for most SEC games. Its a great bargain.

And I'm not sure you know what the word investment really means.

A house in an investment, not a one-time use ticket
