It's one thing to respect MSU but too many people seem to be afraid of them

MSU had a talented team last year and took advantage of the breaks that came their way but I have been reading too many posts that make that make them seem like an NFL team and LSU is in very serious danger of losing pretty much solely based on us not having a "warm up" game. If we are truly this weak then I see bad times ahead for us. I am bolstered by the fact that we were very young last year and improved as they season progressed (minus the bowl game which we all understand). I honestly think LSU will have enough seasoned talent on both sides to win this game. There will be some moments of concern in the first three quarters but we will prevail in the 4th and win. Sunday and Monday people will look back and wonder why some many were so scared :)

MSU wasn't that talented, we sucked and they got a big bump from is being overrated. If we just don't duck we beat them.

Had we seen our offense and defense play a full game people would have more confidence. Noone is scared of Moo St. People just don't know what type of team we have. Moo st is an 8-5 or 7-6 team with LSU schedule. We don't know what we are yet. Can't wait to find out though!

LSU is a 2.5 favorite in Starkvegas, why would anyone be scared?

Even on our darkest times we found a way to beat Mississippi state. I'd hate to lose them twice in a row.

LSU was not prepared for State last season, they had better be this time.

People are concerned about us losing because they embarrassed us last year in TS, not solely based on missing the McNeese game.

No one is afraid of mississippi state they are afraid that LSU isnt very good.

It's not that the team wasn't prepared, they just weren't mature in crucial spots. The combination of two new DTs and a terrible MLB (who wasn't even played in the middle of the field) hurt a lot. Coupling that with a terrible QB with new WRs and Fournette wasn't the starter yet. This game won't even be close by the 4th quarter.
eta: In Dan Mullen's press conference today he said that they're going to be watching Alabama footage (Kevin Steele's LBs) and USC footage (Orgeron's DL) to try to figure out what the defense might look like and how to attack it. They have no idea what the defense will be like or what to expect which is a complete 360 to how they attacked Chavis' scheme last year. It's going to be hard for them to get anything going early and it will allow our offense to gel without much pressure.

The last time Miss State beat Lsu, lsu won the next 14 years worth of games. They were bound to beat lsu at some point and they took advantage of a young team and took out 14 years of frustration last year with a subhuman performance of Dak.
I think lsu is likely to go back to its miss state series dominance. I'm not scared of Miss State and won't be.
Auburn, now that's a different story, that does worry me.

A big reason State won last year was because of LSU's youth/inexperience on the interior line and lack of talent at LB. That, and on defense they were schematically outmatched against Dak's running threat.
With Lacouture, Godchaux, and Beckwith (hopefully) being the strength of the defense I don't see MSU being able to move the ball like they did last year. I also think LSU will be better prepared scheme wise.

I'm not afraid. Then again, im not playing the game. I'm a little man and even though it's MSU, I'd probably shite if I saw one of those players running full speed at me

It has much more to do with not having ANY idea how good we'll be.

And they needed a second 4th down to do it if you remember that game. The refs missed the 4th down call and gave them a second 4th down.
