The Penn State offense has more playmakers than LSU and a better chance of sustaining scoring drives, and the PSU defense has been more effective with the same approach as LSU. Speed is always something to consider in a matchup with a quality SEC team, but historically, the Nittany Lions have matched up well with this type of 'SEC speed.' Penn State's struggles this season have come against physical teams with dynamic front fours. In bowl games, premium playmakers, much like USC had last year, have to be the biggest concern. LSU doesn't have either element, making it a manageable contest for Penn State if the two were to play in Orlando.

WOW! Just WOW!

Consider the source?

I'd be willing to bet a majority of the Rant says LSU will lose.

What has LSU done this year to make you think it can beat PSU?

Do they really??? I mean, I have been disappointed with Miles this season. But come on, Penn State would not have finished 3rd in the SEC. Plus that statement about Penn State having more playmakers just made me throw up!

They finished 3rd in the toughest conference playing defenses tougher than PSU faces in the Big Ten. LSU competed against Bama and Florida. PSU got arse raped by Iowa and tOSU!

They're called "Closet LSU Haters".

There are many on board who would rather see LSU lose 56-0 to Penn State and have Miles possibly forced out than see LSU have its 6th 10 win season of this decade. Or technically, its first of the next decade.

The Patriot News (where this blog came from) is Harrisburg's paper. I wouldn't buy into anything coming from that publication FWIW.

I seem to remember some of the same type of drivel before LSU played Miami and Georgia Tech in bowl games. Only makes it more sweeter when the Tigers win. Should be a good game.

I guess the tough defenses we played are the reason we are ranked 107th or so in total offense?

If you look at the matchup as an objective outsider, PSU should win. But that's where LSUs bowl game intangibles come in.

It's almost disturbing how good we are in bowl games. Always makes you think of the what if...

Seriously! Same smack from Georgia Tech last year. I was at that game last year and I almost (ALMOST!) started to feel sorry for the Georgia Tech fans there. It was an absolute beatdown in their backyard. I have no reason to believe this LSU team won't come prepared to play like they have in the last four bowl games. It will be interesting to see what the early line on the game is.
