Well it's actually about a 900 million dollar product
Posted on 9/24/17 at 2:25 pm to Geauxlden Eagle
no, it's a product on the field, part of big business. Hundreds of millions of dollars generated on tickets, concessions, TV revenue, ad revenue, etc.
And they're not kids. They're 18-22 year olds. They can vote and serve in the military. Not kids.
If you truly want watch kids play a game, go watch a middle school or high school game.

Thanks for this. Really sad how groan men have been acting.

OP is wrong. Watching little league kids for free in your local community is watching kids play. This is most definitely a product. It is packaged, marketed, and sold as a product. Billions are made exploiting this product. Many of the "kids" are aspiring to multimillion dollar NFL careers. What it is most definitely not is a bunch of happy go lucky kids simply playing a game on a field.

Requires a fee to attend. My choice if I wish to pay said fee. Generates revenue for the sponsoring university and athletics association on a university and national scale.
Yeah, it's a fricking product
Yeah, it's a fricking product

what does all that mean goon ,you fire players who don't meet your expectations and hire more the next day ! Goon ,successful coaches are hard to find and when you do change coaches you threaton to fire him after the first loss ,this a guaranteed path to no where !

For better or worse, it's become a product. And almost everyone on this board is financially (or at least emotionally) invested.

pretty expen$ive kids game.
Posted on 9/24/17 at 3:31 pm to Geauxlden Eagle
When you're paying that much for tickets.....it's a product......
Posted on 9/24/17 at 3:33 pm to Geauxlden Eagle
Then why charge for attendance?

nope, not at this level, and it hasn't been for a long time, these "kids," have been more or less pros since late middle school

It brings in huge chunks of revenue for the school, the football program, and athletic dept as a whole. Many people work for those.
It brings in revenue for business in the area, which also employ people.
We play in a conference that gives out +30 million checks.
There are players whose performance earned them a free education valued in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Many players are auditioning for multi-million dollar paychecks. They are also using the program and it's coaches to prepare them for that industry.
Many many fans send huge chunks of their disposable income to the program for no reason other than they are fans and want to experience winning.
Many other people volunteer to work for the program for no pay for reasons basically coming down to being a fan and want to be around the program.
Coaches are vying for job security, paychecks, and in some cases making their careers and future paychecks based off having a good product.
This "game" is big business. It should be treated as such. It stops being "just a game" when you sign a contract to play in return for consideration ($ value of a scholarship).
youre one of the best posters on this site. ive never seen you make a shitty post.

They are getting paid to play. Scholorships etc. So, yeah, they are adults and they are a product.
I imagine in another 20 years we will be calling 35 year old men kids.

It is a product. The coaches get paid millions and the schools make millions off of it. We all have to pay to watch it, and most of these kids are getting their schooling paid for.
Also, a lot of them are using it as a dress rehearsal for the NFL anyway.

You think the team members would rather be called kids over savages? These guys are out there auditioning to become millionaires in the stroke of a pen.
Kids... HA!

Production: produce: product.
The coaches want more offensive production from the QB position.
The team needs to produce more turnovers on defense.
The game is a product.
LSU takes your money in exchange for watching a game. You are a consumer and LSU is pro-viding a service. You have production inputs and consumers.

They are not fricking kids. They are grown arse men.
I am tired of hearing shite like "They can vote and die for their country at 18 they should be able to have a beer"
Then the next sentence "These are just kids playing a game"
Well are they kids or adults? fricking pick one already!
