There's really little excuse that we aren't.
Except for the fact the team simply was not that good this year. They should be good in upcoming seasons but like others have said one player does not turn an NIT team into a NCAA tourney team (in most cases).

Your right, I don't know why I didn't expect to beat Kentucky in Rupp arena. It's not like they have a good record there or anything.
Man, two 5 star freshmen who have probably played together for years and years. LSU should fire JJ, Coach Miles, Orgeron, and Aranda to make a statement.

Agreed, expecting this team to make the NCAA tournament is far from unrealistic. Johnny Jones is a good guy, he loves LSU. But shite man......c'mon. Everybody watching can see. And I wish it weren't so cause I'd love to see him do well. I'd much rather be wrong than watch this disappointing display.

I did not, but here's the thing. It wasn't because Kentucky was so invincible and the talent deficit was such that it was inconceivable. Hell, we beat them by 18 a month ago.
The reason I didn't think we would win or even come close today was because of the consistent lack of effort we've shown, the consistent lack of discipline, and the regression of the team of late when you would expect a young team might be getting better...not an unrealistic expectation IMHO.

And it isn't about 1 game. We didn't miss out on the tourney just because of this 1 game. It was the final nail.
