I'm not saying it doesn't have potential. I'm just saying you can't expect it to be better when you're losing that much.

We have a lot of talent coming back, they need to gel first as a new unit before we proclaim them best offense ever.

Jesus Christ.

Jennings could hope to be half the QB Mett was.

I love Mett, but he would have been sacked on that last drive, the way our OL was pass blocking.

You saw one in the Texas A&M game . Our team stopped him , it will happen to us next season as well. I would like to know why did the o line not block do you happen to have an answer ??

You're comparing a 5th yr Sr with a Tr Fr.

I see no reason be other than optimistic with AJ or that he'll be more than half the QB that Mett is. The point in the OP is that having a mobile QB (which Mett wasn't), has its advantages.

ETA: If you're just reminding of us of what a great QB Mett has been than I agree. Mett was fantastic.

Mett is great. Jennings has the potential to be great, with a different skill set. Praising one guy doesn't mean you're slagging the other guy.

Or he could establish his own legacy entirely. Possibly leading to an undefeated season.

Mett is an incredible QB who put up ridiculous stats.. but he was prone to sacks throughout his career.. Jennings had exceptional footwork and pocket awareness today.. he also utilized the entire field and was able to pick up first downs when there was nothing there (Mett would just throw these downs away)

Go back and watch his play. It's just remarkable. Not sure how many QBs would have lead that drive from inside the 1.. regardless of the competition. His play was lights out on that drive.

EXACTLY..

Mett exactly wasn't all that until the Bama game last season and the hiring of Cam this season. Not sure what TRUE freshman could have lead a team 99+ yards under those conditions. His decision making and control of the team was outstanding. Again, go back and watch the drive again from the very moment he snuck it for breathing room.

Quite a few QB's balls float in the way Jennings ball looked today. Winston, Luck, Wilson, McCarron etc etc etc.

Few QB's can rifle it in there like Mett, Russell can.

Nevermind the fact that AJ is a much more natural QB than the two of these..

Above all else..

Neither ever possessed the poise and confidence I saw. Even my own mother commented on his confidence. It stood above all.

Of course Jennings could very well be a dud, but he should still be better than both.. and it's totally unfair to compare him to either of these two. Jarrett Lee didn't even start playing the quarterback position until his soph-junior season of high school. I never liked that.. Neither of them ever seemed like the QB position came natural to them. When Mett first started you could tell it all came natural to him.. and you see it with Jennings now too. I do not know why people don't see the difference and keep in mind you now have coach Cameron coaching these talents up.

There is great reason for optimism. Stop living in the past and those shite holes years of awful offense and give Cam more credit. He's earned it.

I'm teeming with optimism over Jennings; just nothing I saw worries me. I didn't think his throws "floated" at all - he probably won't have as strong an arm as Mett but that doesn't mean his arm strength is bad.

The only relatively negative thing I can say is that he may play his entire career and never win a game in more dramtic fashion.

Great job AJ; just amazing! You put a smile on this old Tiger's face this afternoon.

I disagree with that. I remember thinking the world of Jefferson's future after the GT game. He hit his deep routes, ran when he was supposed to, found Charles Scott with that underhanded toss out of nowhere.

However Jefferson had that god awful completion percentage, awful throwing motion, and I have a hell of a lot more faith in Cameron in comparison to Crowton.

I admit I'm skeptical a little on Jennings because of the emotional distress I suffered with the jj disaster. But I believe Jennings will be much much better. I can only hope I'm right

Jennings is nothing like Jefferson as far as comparisons go.

They're both black, we get it. Now lets move on.
