It should not be what Miles did; it should be what Miles can do. Some trends.

Record Trend: The Decline is Halted
2012 . 10-3 . (6-2)
2013 . 10-3 . (5-3)
2014 . . 8-5 . (4-4)
2015 . . 8-3 . (5-3) (Potentially a "10" win season)
Three losses is not a goal for anyone. However, the fact of decreasing SEC victories is dead.
Recruiting Trend: Historic and a Potential #1 Class
2012 . 14
2013 . . 6
2014 . . 2
2015 . . 5 (Huge O-Line Haul Last Year
2016 . . 2 (Strong Potential for Huge D-Line and LB Haul This Year)
Saban had two consecutive Top 5 Classes in 2003 (#3) and 2004 (#5).
Miles tied that with two consecutive Top 5 Classes in 2014 (#2) and 2015 (#5).
2016 could be the first time that LSU has had three consecutive Top 5 Classes, and it could be a #1 class.
Quarterback Development Trend: History of Progress
All four QBs had remarkably similar numbers for their first year with 25+ passes in the SEC.
Although there have been outlier college QBs who have performed at an elite level during their second year, that is not the norm. However, it is the norm for LSU QBs, like other college QBs, to get better as they get more years of experience. Harris may have been shaken after the Florida game, but there is little reason to believe that he cannot develop year over year like his predecessors.
Pass Attempts and Pass Yards Trend: LSU Threw More as 2015 Progressed
Miles agrees that an overhaul may be needed, but perhaps not a major overhaul.
Perhaps Miles believes that a major overhaul is not needed because LSU has already started the process of transforming the offense with more pass attempts and yards.

Looks to me like even later in the year, we only averaged about 20 passes per game unless we were trailing by a large margin.

This data does not account for how nice of a guy that he is.

Yippee. We killed it.

10 wins isn't that great when you have 12 games and a bowl game. Especially if you don't when anything. But go ahead and hand out participation trophies.

Nevertheless, it's a step up which beats the hell out of a step down or a step sideways.
Moreover, LSU's QB will be entering his third year next year and LSU is stockpiling talent, particularly in the trenches.
It's not just one trend.
It's multiple positive trends.
