A couple of years ago my sister and niece were in town and we walked around campus. One of the gates was open so we walked in the southwest gate and were looking at the field from BEHIND the fence. All of a sudden some guy starts yelling at us to get out immediately. We complied but while we were out by the tiger statue in from of the stadium we see he has taken the elevator down and is just staring at us from the gate.
It was a weird situation. It was probably one of the reasons she decided to attend Texas A&M.

So she then decided to attend a school where you get yelled out regularly for stepping in the wrong spot?

It's a trap! But seriously, I know the guys who got arrested a couple months ago for being in the stadium and they said the open window they climbed through had like a 10 foot fall on the other side but luckily there was a ladder right up against this random window for them to climb down. I'm not saying it was placed there intentionally but aliens.

So the answer seems to be no. Which sucks cuz every other university is wide open to walk around usually.

Technically, it is not open....however, there is usually a gate open with some maintenance folks inside working. I have walked in and had a look around a couple of times. I got some pretty concerned looks, but they never said anything. One thing that I would suggest is that you not even give the impression that you are attempting to go near the turf.

Walk in briefly, admire the place for a minute and walk out....no wandering around at all.

For years I'd visit before game day - usually late afternoon. Don't know about now but Gate 10, where I enter for games, was always open and seemed to be a busy place for workers. I just eased in, smiled and waved, and kept going. I may have been the first know the goalposts were greased for the Alabama game after they came down after Tennessee that year. I like to call it KY jelly since we did screw 'Bama for the first time in a long time in Tiger Stadium. Those clowns still got up there but couldn't bring them down. Today, we EXPECT great success. Those days were the revival of Tiger Football and were a lot of fun.

Around 2005, my cousin was deciding on what college to attend, so we convinced her to tour the LSU campus.

When we were walking by Tiger Stadium, we noticed the gate was open so we went inside. There were a few people doing "stadiums" in the stands so we thought it was OK to be in there. We eventually got onto the field and ran around for a little bit then left. Nobody told us anything. But looking back on it, I'm pretty sure we just got lucky during that 5ish minute stretch while we were on the field. /csb

My advice: I don't know if I would risk it after hearing about the guys being arrested.

Not usually open but there are lots of ways to schedule to see when you're there. LINK

Every time I go to campus during the off season I stop by the Athletic Office and get permission. Never been told no and given permission to enter the stadium. Thinks may have changed since then.

You can arrange a tour if you call ahead to athletic office. Not sure if they do individual or not but definitely group tours.

we've walked by and seen the gates open a couple of different times. We went in, ran around a little on the field, and left with no problems.
Not sure if we were breaking any rules but nobody said a word.

So, lemme get this straight......she made one of the worst decisions in her life based on this one event?

BATON ROUGE – LSU Police say two University of Oklahoma students have been arrested for breaking into Tiger Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Around noon Sunday, LSU Police responded to a report of two men trespassing inside the stadium. The two men attempted to run away when officers made contact with them. The two men were able to push open the stadium's southwest gate before being apprehended by LSU Police.

Samuel Holland, 20, and Lucas Miller, were charged with unauthorized entry of a place of business and resisting an officer by flight. Both were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Police tell WBRZ News 2 that no property was damaged or stolen.
