I'll reiterate what I said in another thread:
Right now LSU wins on paper. However, You never know how the season will play out. State has been playing LSU close lately, and I think they have the QB to pull the upset.

Screw the haters OP, this will be a dangerous game for sure.
Following up a tough Kent State team, and improved Auburn team, and showdown at Georgia, this is a classic trap road game before Florida comes to BR.
And they're coming off of a bye week.
MSU is not a joke. They're not on our talent level but so what?? Teams get upset all the time.
I think we'll be focused, but if we get banged up and are nursing injuries, I will be very nervous for this game (but I'm nervous for every game).

Strictly from a statistical standpoint, I'm a little concerned. How many times can you beat someone before that one a anomaly happens and lsu loses.
But, our talent is much better so as long as they are ready to go we beat miss st another time and see if next year is the year they finally win one.

I was there in 09'.....lucky to get out of there with the win that year.
This year, not going to happen....unless we just turn it over and come out flaaaaaaaaat.

This has been a pretty competitive series in the last five years
Maybe from a MSU point of view.
2008 2009 were two years out of the last 12 years where mediocre teams had good chances to beat us. they failed to do that.
MSU has been ranked a total of 8 weeks dating back to the 2001 season
Outside of the 2009 game, I have never felt the least bit worried at any point about losing to MSU.
Same with Ole Miss, they got us when we were most vulnerable in 2008, got fortunate b/c of an idiot in 2009, but other than that, all those close games we've had with them in the last 12 years just don't worry me. I just assume we will win, and we do other than those 2 years out of the last 12.
Last time MSU was ranked when we played them was 2000. Last time we weren't ranked when we played MSU was 2001.
Last time Ole Miss was ranked when we played them was 2003 SEC West Champions team. Last time we weren't ranked was 2001 as well.

This game really concerns me
Could we lose? Sure. It is a conference game. Everyone is somewhat of a threat.
Should you be overly concerned about it? Laughable.

If we played with only the past recruiting class, we'd beat state by a TD

This one will be a tough out at the very least, I'm afraid
This is so annoying. There is absolutely no reason that should lead anyone to believe we will lose to Miss St. We should beat them easily. We are better than them in every single facet of the game. Quit worrying.

Who deserves the nod to play LSU: Alabama, Oregon, or Oklahoma State?
LSU plays UGA, UF, A&M, and Alabama
You worry about Miss St.

You aren't looking at this objectively. Based on the record for the last 20 years this looks like a sure win. Truth be told I don't think LSU loses.
However, this games lines up nicely as a trap game on the road before UF. Most media outlets rank Tyler Russell ahead of Mett as a QB. State also has a solid defense, and should be able to run the ball well.
We will know a lot more after the TCU game. A lot rides on how the young defenders step up, and if the offense can utilize Cam's scheme.
LSU is more talented, but MSU has more intangibles in their favor this year.

Come on man... Out of all the games this year, you start a worried thread about Miss State.
Time for another 37-17 blowout like last year. However, this year we will have an improved offense.
44 - 10, LSU rolls.

If Miss St beats Ok St (I don't expect them to), they will probably be 4-0 heading into the off week before LSU
With that said, it'll be another nice quality win for LSU
