Smoke’s first year in 2002 they went 44-22 made a Super. 2003 they went 45-22-1 won the SEC Championship, made the CWS and he was SEC coach of the year. 2004 they went 46-19 and made the CWS. 2005 they went 40-22 and made Regional. 2006 they went 35-24. So Smoke only won 100 more games than he lost in 5 years. Why does this board shite on him?

Because his last 2 years were bad and he left the roster in pretty rough shape when he left. He also had the near impossible task of following Skip.

For me? Because in the 9th inning of a CWS elimination game, he chose his most unreliable bullpen option available at the time. Billy Sadler. Guy had struggled with confidence for weeks before that appearance and had the look of "why, coach?" as he came to the mound. Outcome entirely predicable.

LSU is playing terribly currently but I think southern is pretty good. That being said LSU should never lose to Southern.
