When the Freshmen get here will this be the most talented team since 2011, 2007?? Will this team gel and bring home the NC for LSU?? I say it is!! Possibly 6 NFL first rounders?? CLM is on the fence this year and they have to be firing on all cylinders from the get go come September. Your thoughts??

It is a talented team. I think the defense/sts is a little behind 2011...

Well apparently we still can't throw an intermediate pass, so you tell me?

I wish we had a more interesting schedule.

Even if it is it'll fall short because you can't beat a top 5 Oregon and top 15 West Virginia OOC schedule

but yes at the very least this defense should be better than 12 and 10 and as deep as 2011

Based on what exactly? The opinions of one observer in the first scrimmage on the first week of the spring?

Also, I'm not sure if you remember. But the QBs in 2011 weren't exactly world beaters.

Its more balanced. The defense isnt quite as good, but it's hard to compare to the 2011 defense. I think the offense is better. Our offense this year can be really really good if B.Harris shows up. Not to mention that we have the best offensive talent in football this upcomign year.

On the defense side of the field, maybe
On the offense side of the field, we are still struggling with the same thing which is short and intermediate passing. With that said, NO

Yes, and every day I praise baby Jesus that Beckwith came back because that would have left a huge hole in the defense.

We didn't exactly have a Heisman winning QB in 2011 either.

It seems that everyone forgets about JJ performance that year. Our defense and st won more games for us than our offense.

The Broncos won a fricking superbowl in the NFL with basically 0 fricking offense. This LSU team will go IN this year! NC or Bust

I think it's on par talent wise but it's also the most veteran group we've had since 2007

I'd say so. I feel like the 2016 offense is more talented across the board, while the 2011 defense was more talented across the board. Special teams edge goes to 2011 as well. Our offense in 2011 really wasn't very good, but it capitalized on short fields and minimized mistakes. If the 2016 offense produces anywhere near what the talent suggests it should produce, then we should have a contender.

QB - slightly better (Harris & Etling > JL & JJ)

RB - better and quality deep

FB - push (11 had Stampley & JC but JDM is really good)

WR - better

TE - worse (11 had Peters & Clement even Mitch Joseph caught a td that season)

OL - better (11 had the worse oline performance I have ever seen in my life on 1/9/12)

DE - worse

DT - push (Loc and Godchaux will make it to the league like their predecessors)

LB - better

DB - worse (11 stamped us as DBU that is big shoes to fill, but this year has a ton of talent and can be as good)

It's hard to tell since we don't throw to them.

This is true. I mean we do have some studs.

Peterson and Clement could block and were real threats to catch the ball. We have yet to develop that guy on our current roster, Gordon is close to that if he gets his 5th year.

Moreau true freshman held his own last year in the run game. This kid is going to be a bruser.

Dillon when healthy is a bull.

Jeter is serviceable I am just not sold on him yet. He missed a lot of blocks last year but made some key blocks also.

Jacory needs the ball in his hands.

Desean needs the ball in his hands.

I think so, but not as talented as 2011, mainly on defense.

Make no mistake, if "Miles gonna Miles" again, it is a team that could easily finish 9-3 or so.
