Wasn't Winston and Manziel the most talented QB on their team as a true freshman?
Didn't both of those qbs have first round draft picks playing in front of them?

How were the teams split up in the spring game? I think Jennings had to play against 1st team whereas Harris played against second team. The fact remains that players with more experience usually start. I doubt Les will start a true freshman day one. I'm just ready for the season to start.

They both played for both teams. I'm not saying i'd prefer one way or the other, I'm just saying the only thing we as fans know for certain is what we have seen, that Harris outplayed Jennings. We have no idea how CCC will run things in this situation.

Then one would have to say Harris out played Jennings. But Jennings has played more live college ball and I think that gives him the edge as of right now. Nobody knows what will happen as the season progresses.

Hard to imagine Tannehill and Manuel having more pure talent. What set them apart was experience.
I'll stick by my original point that Jennings has an edge simply because he has a full year in the system. That may not be enough to hold off Harris very long, but I do think it's enough to make him the starter game 1.

I think there is enough time for him and he has done a lot of things that you see vet QBs do. He went out to cali and put in time working with qb coaches.

I'm pulling for the beat qb. I personally think both guys will be good enough where we can win with them. I'm not concerned. I do like Harris more. And I do think he's gonna win this in fall.

Also Harris has been highly visible since the spring game with going out to camps and stuff. Jennings hasn't been as visible.
Cam is going to lay waste to the sec with our 4 horsemen of freshmen.

Both were redshirts too.

Harris isn't going to be outworked, we know that.

This is a good point. Just because Jennings doesn't post on Instagram every time he is working out does not mean he isn't... And I'll admit it is possible that we could have given up on Jennings too quickly. It is also possible we are all right about him.

Why does it matter?
Whoever wins the job is whoever is most capable of running the offense the most efficiently. That's all I care about personally.

Rant... They are NOT starting Harris. This isn't a discussion.
Harris is the Quarterback with a higher ceiling... for sure. 100%. George Whitfield knows it, Cam knows it, and we on the Rant THINK we know it.
But they aren't going to put that on him that early. If Harris starts for us and fails against Wisconsin then we are screwed...
Jennings gets the start because of player support and a small smidgen of experience (which led to two wins) AND because if he fails, then we have "HOPE" that Harris can come in & save the day... Jennings will either be one of two things...
1. He'll be like Flynn/Mauk and WIN by good management/good fortune, outstanding play by other offensive talent, and great defense. Or....
2. He'll be like J. Lee and have terrible play and terrible fortune... and then Harris will come "save" the day.
We have to have Harris to fall back on... we can't have Jennings to fall back on... we're already somewhat disappointed in his play. I was in Tampa for the Outback Bowl, so I can say that... even though half the game, I was thinking it was a "Les" called game.

Have you spoken to Cam personally to confirm? Link to interview?

Harris won the Spring and the respect of his teammates.
But who wins the fall?
The battle continues, and will continue for at least the first 14 practices. Then the coaches must get the starter ready.
#2 will play the third series of each half against Wisconsin.

if he doesnt start, then that means he wont ever start until jennings loses a couple games? why does that have to be the case? Cuz thats whats going to happen. if you know youll eventually start him, do it now.
And the only argument is jennings is more experienced......and? hes still inexperienced and he will struggle in sec play just as much if not more than harris. hes not a senior. he has 2 games in. Yes thats more but we all know he will take lumps and make mistakes..so will harris....In fact id be willing to bet harris struggles less....

who will make more mistakes? jennings or harris? if u say the same then add the higher ceiling and more exciting plays by harris and its harris by a long shot.
jennings starts so harris can come in if he struggles? cuz we cant do the opposite? thats not a winning attitude. harris...if he struggles... will work through them, like any developing qb.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Quit being afraid of failing. Play the best player...period.
