Is the trip to Gainesville really as negative as they say?

Wanting to make the Florida-LSU game, but dont want a negative experience. Heard alot of rumblings on here about how bad that trip is.

From my short time here I can tell you that Birdman doesn't know much of anything.
Gainesville is great. I go every year.

I've been everywhere except Ark, kentucky and south Carolina. Gainesville is the worst by far.
Horribly struck tailgating rules.

We have always had a great time and will be going back this year.
had a couple of the typical dust-ups with the college juice-head crowd, but nothing too too bad.
In fact, they have been surprisingly mild in my opinion.
Tuscaloosa on the other hand is ridiculous. Can't get em to say much before the game, but after....yeah after, you'd swear you were at an American Embassy in the Middle East.

They'll make you pour it out(if it's in a bottle or can) and keep checking on you throughout the day prior to game time, like a parent. If you do it again, they give you all kinds of crap, the real jerks will force you to leave campus.
If you're not parked in the right spot, they'll get on you about that, the jerks will just flat out tow your car, doesn't matter if you're standing right there.
The campus police seem to go out of their way to make the time there for visiting fans as crappy as they can, at least that was my experience.
I drove up from Orlando when I lived there. I'll go to a game on the moon before I go back to Gainesville. Screw that place.

No, it is not as bad as people say. At least not in 2010. We had zero problems and had a great time!

It is awful. Went there for the first time in I believe 08 and swore to never go back. Strangely enough, we went back in 2010 and got an RV deposit down on another trip this year...
It sucks. The fans are just a different breed. You always have your assholes in every fanbase, this this school has a different feel to them. We set up shop at our tailgate around 10:30am for a game at 7pm. It got to be around 3-4pm and people were just finally getting there to tailgate. We heard Katrina joke after Katrina joke which yeah you have to shake of - but everyone in my group either has family from new orleans or is from new orleans. Also, cops and laws are terrible. They just pick out LSU fans to give BS tickets to. Watch out for open container even if you are of age. They'll pin one on you as you watch 150 UF fans walk by doing the exact same thing as you.

Birdman is a legit poster... Florida does suck. Too many affliction types.
Now, florida's traveling fans are great people. Just top much juiced up trash to walk around campus without confrontation. The gator chomps and chants or fine but like most trash, they take it too far. There's just not a lot of the non-southern hospitable trash and more of the come at me bro trash.

We had a pretty great trip to Gainesville...right up to the point where we lost the game. Then I had an eighty year old woman, a six year old kid, and everyone in between wagging their fingers in my face and cursing at me.
