Im shocked that in quite a few counties in Mississippi that have more LSU and BAMA fans than State or Ole Miss.

Click on 'interactive map' below the map and it breaks it down by parish/county in every state. Pretty cool actually.

Good stuff, but I noticed they left out UNC for some reason. No idea why.

Zip code 70503, in the middle of Lafayette, has the lowest percentage of LSU fans in the state at 52%. Les Miles has lost control of zip code 70503.

You will see more LSU bumper stickers and clothing on the gulf coast of Mississippi than either Ole Miss or State. USM is well represented though.

Some counties in South Dakota have Duke as their top program. Someone explain that to me. UT-Austin is also ranked highly in South Dakota. Are there no colleges in the Dakotas?

No, problem is that area is made up of a lot of diehard u-la-la fans...there are plenty of LSU fans there, but they didn't ask me...so, % goes up a few...

The NYT article mentions that UNC isn't the top team in any Zip Code.
And North Carolina doesn't control even a single ZIP code. They instead yield to Duke, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and East Carolina, even though none are a football powerhouse.
Although I clicked around the state a little and I find it hard to believe that UNC isn't in the top 3 anywhere in North Carolina.

Yeah. It's very cool.

Lot's of interesting (if useless) info.

For example, in Trinity County in northern California, 4.1% follow LSU!
That's strange but interesting.
