I agree our offensive play calling is terrible and beyond predictable and I agree it's time for a coaching change, but what about our defense? We have one of the most talented defenses in the country and we give up as many blown plays as any BIG 12 team (I'm exaggerating, for you smartasses out there).

What do we do about this? Because it doesn't seem like Steele has it under control.

The problem starts at the top.

There can be more than 1 problem.

We do?

Make Steele LBs coach. Go get a young up and coming DC because the one we have now is a proven failure. LSU is pretty much any DCs dream job right now. You can come in instantly and have a top 10 defense. Some options I like are the current DC at Boston College, Wake Forest, and Wisconsin.

I can't argue with you there. But my point is, in the past two games, if our defense would not have allowed busted plays, we probably would have won both games and we wouldn't be talking about this right now...

We had the most talented defense LSU ever had full of NFL caliber players on 1/9 and dumb fuk miles still refused to stop running elementary school offense. He is a bone head and game has passed him by its time for him to exit stage left.

The problem is that the puppet master loves trying to fit square pegs into round holes in hopes that one day they will match up.

It's one of 3.

The other 2 are offense and special teams.

I dunno, we've got some nice players and some elite ones in the secondary, but our front-7 depth is pretty atrocious. Not trying to excuse the lapses or big plays, but I don't buy that we are totally stacked with talent on D.

Problem is in order

Special Teams putting our defense and offense in bad starting situations.

It's both. Defense has covered up how bad the offensive problems were in the past, but our DC got tired of carrying the team and moved on.

the problem IS defense and special teams. We could have scored 28 in the last two games and still lost. We don't hold teams to fg's when they have a short field. we let teams drive and drive, very few three and outs. therefore, they run more plays than us, our offense is off the field, and our defense gets tired.

We let Syracuse and a walk on qb put 20 on us. think about that. Is that LSU defense we all have been accustom to? This is the second worst defense we have had in 15 years. Yet, it gets a pass and people think it's offense. LSU has always been known as a defensive team. Our most success is when we have great defense.

Looks like last verse is the same as the first for him.

I actually blame the defense for the Arky loss. We were at the point where we had worn their run defense down and were about to start running downhill on them, but our defense sucked so hard we couldnt afford to run the ball anymore midway through the 3rd qtr

Kevin Steele was a god awful hire and everyone knew it.

It is showing now. He is just not a good defensive coordinator. Excellent recruiter, terrible with his schemes and coaching. Our secondary is very talented and he has taken a steaming shite on them.

Secondary has given up big plays all year (Jefferson in particular-he's terrible).

we lack that 1 real playmaker on the secondary that LSU fans are accustom to seeing. Tre has been solid when healthy.

DL lacks depth as we all know.

offense is vanilla per usual. 0 creativity and trying to run over teams who are un run overable.

OL is good on run block but bad technique in pass block.

Harris is not being put in a position to utilize his legs. One would think when he's being pressured and having trouble getting to the second read that we'd chill on the playaction from within the pocket.

can't seem to get the best player in the country the ball unless it's a handoff/pitch.

and of course the elephant in the room is Peveto. His units are bad across the board. Bad field position for the D, kick returns awful, etc.

LSU has a lot of problems but the only one that's personnel IMO is DL. No excuse for a lot of the other crap.

Yep, he's definitely struggled this year. I expected him to do better with the some of the D line talent he has.
