Yeah yeah, I get that we run the same plays over and over and over again, and they usually don't work. My point is that we haven't committed to an offensive identity and thus don't excel at anything in particular.

I think there is too much stuff for our young qb's. Clearly they are not executing. That is all the proof I need that there is too much on their plate. I think the issue is that lsu has added some zone read aspects without culling anything. There is so much on their plate they can't execute it at sec speed. There is the two tight run check stuff, under center playaction, the zone read stuff, the vertical passing stuff that cam likes, and a few quick game concepts sprinkled in.

A perfect example from the other night was when lsu ran a simple quick game concept called "stick" its basically June Jones's old double quick out. Qb has a simple read on the flat player. Harris barely glanced way and just took off. To me that screams of too few reps. I think they need to cull and get good at gun runs, quick game, and play action.

I love the approach auburn took last year after the lsu game.they just said screw it, we're going to be a zone read, and zone triple team and run a few play actions with one or two drop back concepts and they sold out on it for executions' sake.

Just my opinion from the outside looking in.

We wonder why our online sucks? They have to learn to block for three different offenses and the are all big road graders. None of then are what I would consider agile zone blockers.

Like the qb's. Les and company have recruited top notch talent to do what they are not good at.

I'm sure we can all agree that getting a few high % throws at the beginning of the game to get Harris in a rhythm early. When you run 17 run plays out of 20 and they finally call a pass it almost sends a message like "Pass?!" What is this "pass" that they speak of...?...they must be panicking".

You know as opposed to "yea, our QB has a stellar arm, it's a PASS beaches! Y'all are toast!"

Yeah LSU runs a pro offense, a type which is generally regarded as being complex compared to the spreads.

Plus the fact that the only QBs to run it well under Miles have been juniors or seniors makes it seem too complex to me. We'll never see a redshirt fresh or soph QB run it successfully, so therefore we have bad offenses most years.

Those teams run those offenses with great athletes. Yet LSU has generally been successful in stopping them because they have had great athletes with experience on defense. That is not the case this year.

It is easy to always focus on the games which are not successful. LSU has been consistently successful in what they do. Perhaps the times are really changing, but lets give it at least a five year period of comparison before making a judgment. Teams no longer run the wishbone and the veer for a reason although they were successful offenses. Wasn't that long ago that Rich Rodriguez was the darling of the offensive gurus.

It just may be that teams are catching LSU and to a lesser extent Alabama in the down cycle and both will begin to ( hate to say it) restore order next season.
