If the Tigers rush for 200 or more yards, the passing yards don't have to be prolific. That's a big if because 'Bama has a stout defense but then again, so does OM. Arky outgained 'Bama by a wide margin so it's not like it would be a shock for LSU to do so. In 2012 the Tigers really dominated both lines of scrimmage for most of the game, but critical turnovers and blunders late cost them. LSU can defeat 'Bama straight up if they play to their capabilities and don't turn lose the turnover battle. Can't expect to lose in turnovers 1-4 and win the game a'la the Ole Miss game.

If Bama dusts off the 2012 BCS gameplan of the "mush rush" (keeping aggressive pressure from the defensive line but keeping a pocket). JJ could not use his feet to run around to buy time or run.

This would not help them because this is not the 2011 Bama team...

But we still have stretches where we're 3 and out too much.

In the past 2 games we've had 5 3-and-outs out of 26 drives. Mean while out opponents have had 10 in 24 drives.

What formula to be -4 in turnovers until the last play? Miss a 29 yd fg? Fumble at the 1?

the "formula" will be the same, hopefully we won't spill a bunch of the ingredients along the way...

Gonna have to complete a few more passes....bottom line.... and not just the bombs. If I'm Saban....I'm still gonna stack the box and force AJ to put up or shut up.

That's the question most of us are curious about. We have the talent for sure. We will see

One thing for sure is if our OL doesn't do a much better job against Bama this year than they did last year, we won't have a chance. They almost got Mettenberger killed last year.

NO..... But they could be... Field position will have a huge effect on this game... LSU will not weardown Bama like they did Ole Miss.

Our offense doesn't have to be balanced to beat bama. We just beat the team that had arguably the best defense in the country. How did we do that. Running right at them. The only thing we need to do to beat bama is stick to lsu style football and clean up the mistakes.

if you actually watch Jennings, you'd see how close he is to being a very good QB. anyone who thinks one stat defines him (in this case his completion percentage) is an idiot.

not to mention that bama is dropping off. saban has this team would so tight i wouldnt be amazed if they had a complete meltdown soon. the two teams they've played that most closely resemble LSU are Ole Miss and Ark; they lost one and won the other 14-13.

did you dislike our gameplan vs ole miss? I thought it was great....why throw, when we were having major success running the ball. But, when we did throw, we showed them some different looks for sure....rb over the middle....rollout to te...etc.

It was GREAT... But Bama is BETTER than Ole Miss on D. WHEN you realize this, you will feel better... LSU can win this game, BUT LES, YOU ARE NOT WEARING DOWN the Bama D like you did Ole Miss... FACT/.... Let me see... YOU say you have been a fan for over 25 years... SO I guess you used to like Saban when he was coach at LSU,,, RIGHT??? Well is he a worse coach since leaving, or a better coach since leaving???

This why I don't think we win. Saban prides himself on taking away your strength. We will have to be patient with the run, pass very effectively, and maybe use 2-3 trick plays to win.

This is the Bama game. Both teams will go conservative. We lost in '12 because we got fancy.

I would say we lost because we went conservative at the end after being very balanced the whole game. That run up the middle on fourth and short by Spencer Ware out of the wildcat, towards the end of the game, was beyond retarded. He got the ball like 7 yards back. Also the three straight runs in the second to last possession when Mett was on fire in the second half (I believe he was 11-12) was ill advised. LSU gets that first, they win.

I assume the fancy you are referring to was the fake and the long missed field goal. LSU definitely should have gone conservative then.
