That's the difference in offensive production of the two teams.
Can we extrapolate our stats against non SEC opponents? I mean, if we are going to compare the offenses.

I am not a Cameron fan, but this kinda exercise is just pointless.

Why? That's not comparing apples to apples.

All things being equal it's Obv that la tech offense vs an sec defense (year long) prob wouldnt produce same results, simply bc the of the difference in overall talent.

LSU on the other hand has same or superior talent vs these same sec teams.
It's not assuming too much to expect Lsu under the system that tech runs to have similar results with superior players/athletes.

We can't develop a qb, so we don't get top flight talent. Due to not getting this, we must run the ball a lot more. This only reaffirms Les' offensive philosophy. The problems won't magically disappear when Les is still only O coach on field calling plays.

neither do teams that run spread offenses. They develop enough to make 1 read. It is why most suck in the NFL. Every decision is made before the ball is stamped. This is why Baylor can change QBs and never miss a beat or why Leach had a pipeline of 5th year QBs at Tech.

because of the offenses Florida and LSU run puts tons a of pressure on QBs when the name is called. Toss 1 pick and the coach losses all faith in them (see bama 9-6). Great QBs are made from pro-style offenses but it is the harder path.

I could really care less how a qb does after he leaves here. if we could run a system that a qb could grasp with just a single read, and our passing game didn't look as dysfunctional as it does what would be wrong about that? if we could avg. between 220yd and 250yds per game in the air and 200 yds on the ground, we would be in playoff contention. In the glory year of 2013, Mett avg. 16-25 for 250 yds. He was avg. 15 yds per completion, this shows you even then we had no short to intermediate passing game. that's what we need to devolp

I am with you. I still rather run something closer to what we had under Jimbo but if that cannot happen, i'd just be happy moving the football.

The defense has not been good enough to carry this style and the 2011/2010 is not coming back anytime soon.

LM is in the driver's seat and for many or whatever reason(s) is incapable of changing his offense...this is a mute point and always will be with Les.

It seems you're the one who doesn't understand football. You can still "play power football" from the spread. I'm not even necessarily advocating a switch to the spread (although there certainly needs to be a change in the offense) but to make those claims is simply ignorant.

Going full spread would be a dumb fricking mistake for LSU.

However, taking key formations and plays from a spread offense and including them in our current offense to give the defense different looks is something we desperately need.

Doesn't matter Les is the HC, the rant is stupid, F King Alexander is driving LSU into the ground, and Alleva sucks! We are doomed!

PLus we would stop playing right into the better teams on our schedules hands by running a much harder type offense for teams like Bama to handle.

How have those teams fared recently?
So auburn luckily beat them once and won the SEC West recently. They've been the top team from the West 6 out of the last 8 years, and yes i'm counting 2011 for them.

We don't need to run the spread. We just need to run our offense and execute, while not being unbelievably predictable and stubborn.

people get to tied up in labels. We need to incorporate spread elements in our offense (same as NFL teams do and everyone else does these days) and get an OC (maybe we already have him) who can coach our players to execute plays properly and knows how to run a modern style pro style offense and can develop QB's for the college game. Maybe Cam and Miles can learn how to do those things, but obviously Peterson can do those things well already without having to learn how to do them.

Some of LSU's offensive issues are technique and creativity. We don't need to run a full - blown spread offense. Just use ALL the weapons and distribute ball to more than LF and long pass plays.

Multiple offensive sets (between power and spread) would be amazing and so few colleges actually do that.

I think it's only a detriment either way if you go almost full shotgun spread or almost full power (Ace, I form) formations.

As bad as our offense has been the offenses in college who cant get under center to take a knee or power run it into the endzone from inside the 2 or 3 yard line make you laugh because you know those kids aren't getting prepared for the next level at all.

Our offense is simple out of the I, it's either..

1. Toss dive
2. PA Post
3. PA Out/Comeback route

No creativity anywhere.

You forgot the play action boot where only two guys go out for passes in the same place and we throw to the fullback in the flat.

You or could call the offense we've ran the last 2 yrs. So just about anyone with a pulse would be an improvement over what we've been doing.

That is play #4.

The defensive keys are simple with such simple offensive plays.

really more like the last 3 years, just had great players in 2013, offense was just as simple minded and predictable then as well

Well, they can leave the tight end unguarded, for starters.....
