Is next year now a "proof it" year for Kelly?

The 10 wins were awesome year 1

But now year 2 looking like it's going to fall enormously short of expectations (playoff expectations to likely a 4/5 loss team, maybe unranked) combined with the recruiting loses makes me wonder how patient fans will be.

Year 3 to me has just become very crucial to prove we're heading in the right direction.

You're going to lose some extremely talented guys like Nabor, Wingo, Smith, Thomas Jr but you return O's last class of studs with Will Campbell, Mason Taylor, Emery Jones, Perkins etc going into their 3rd year. Combined with 4th year Nuss is going to be his best shot.

If he loses 2/3 games again how much longer do you give him?

Year 3 is huge to me, he gets year 4 no matter what but if he fails in year 3 (no playoff) then year 4 he's on the hot seat.

I'm sorry, what's his buyout again?

We can’t come up with a few extra thousands to keep kids in-state. How are we gonna buy out his tens of millions to go away?

I'd like to see how we come up with the money to fire Kelly if the bottom falls out. I think we are locked in for 4 more years unless it's a Hallman level disaster.

I'm sorry, clearly you're not paying his payout, why do you care?

Does it make you uncomfortable to think about how much money another man wants to spend?

If we can't make the 12 team playoff next year, then I'm out on him. Will have been 3 years away from Orgeron's disaster that he left us with.

Wingo, Smith,

Why would either leave?

Wingo maybe but he hasn't been great this year and he is like 6' 290 which isn't exactly great NFL measurables.

Smith shouldn't leave unless its to transfer to a group of 5 team. He's been THAT bad this year.

Tucky and say that next year‘s gonna be the year. You lose pretty much everyone on the defensive line that’s worth a damn. You have no secondary. All your skill players are going to graduate or go to the NFL. That leaves you with brand new people at all skill positions, including quarterback I don’t see it happening.

He will definitely lose any remaining support of the fan base if he doesn’t make big improvement.

Pretty bad it has gotten to this point. I don’t think he had any idea how ugly it could/will get. It’s clear coaching is an issue and he isn’t doing anything about it.

It gets less every year. With Biden's economy/inflation numbers a million dollars won't buy spit by year five.

It's also the 100 million dollar coaches 3rd year

Isn't that exactly when results are expected?

No. Its time these mega deals play out instead of guys getting tens of millions to vacate after a couple of years. Until he does something to void paying him, Kelly is it for the long haul.

I still think next year is our year, especially with that O-line.

I’d be very surprised if they don’t make the playoff & concerned about BK’s future
