Another lose for this team would obviously be a failure of a season in the eyes of most of the fans but do we fire a 10-2 (being optimistic) coach? What if his only other loss is to Florida and he rallys against Alabama, do we keep him?

I think he's on the hotseat for the entire season.

He probably survives, yes, as that probably wins us the West and gets us to the SEC championship game

loss* and that would put us in the SEC championship game, so we'd probably keep him

No. His job will be on the line at the end of the season. His body of work will determine his fate.

I predict that he is gone.

If we go undefeated in the West, we keep him 100%

Miles is going to be on the hotseat until we get back to the SECCG. That means beating Fla, Bama, Ole Miss, Arky and aTm. If we lose any of those games, which we will *cough* BAMA *cough* everyone will be on his arse again.

He is on the hot seat, but it won't be "one" game that gets him fired, it will be a combination of loses. He has a one game buffer I think maybe two.

this. Win the west and he survives. Anything less, and I think he's gone.

Yes, for the time being. If we'd lost to state, I would not have been surprised to hear about a change Monday morning. The same goes for Auburn, Missouri and Southern Miss. If he gets past those and loses to Florida, I'd expect the administration to take a wait and see approach (i.e. a loss to Florida takes you out of the playoff race but not the race for the SEC, especially since they are in the east. We'd still technically control our own destiny with respect to an SEC Championship).

No, his seat is hot though. I just don't think they will fire him during the season....no matter what happens.

All of our coaches, players, and Athletic Directors need to feel the heat every week. This isnt a "oh, I have a contract for x amount of years, I'll just sit this season out mentally."

In the eyes of most he is always on the line but to the people who make decisions it's not an issue.

Barring a major scandal alleva is going nowhere.

Les is going nowhere. I'm not sure who made up this "les has to win the west" standard. As long as the average fan and president likes him he's safe.
