Of course you would call it indisputable.

He is so close to being a dominant program if he just will let his OC's run the offense and recurit the kind of QB's for our team
You think Les should have placed his full trust of the offense and QB recruiting to a guy who was fired from Maryland, a CFL team, and is 3-9 with his current team?
Perhaps placing too much faith in Crowton is what landed us in the situation we currently find ourselves in.

In most ways, yes. I miss the Les Miles that wasn't so damn conservative though.
i think it is appropriatet o get more conservativ when you don't have a QB you can trust.

Who is ultimately responsible for lack of talent and/or development at the QB position? I like how some of you want to credit Miles on how he handles shitty situations that he is responsible for creating in the first place.
Who knows if Ryan Perilloux could have been Jameis Winston? Jimbo keeps Winston and they're winning right now; Miles boots Perilloux and the team lost more than they would have; but apparently in Miles' mind, keeping control of the program was more important than a 2 yr run. And as we remember, LSU did make another run at a national title without Perilloux.
I'll be curious to see the long-term effects on Fla St's internal discipline from them keeping Winston.

7 games decided by a touchdown or less this year…. in the ACC.
Would instantly have been the worst team in the SECW.

Jimbo knew what Miles knew. They wouldn't be worth a shite without him. Difference is Miles has integrity.

Why are talking about Ryan P? He hasn't been on the team in 7 years. Since that time Miles has not recruited and developed a single QB outside of 1 JUCO transfer that fell into our lap.

Read the title. This is a thread which evaluates Miles' entire stint at LSU.

So are you suggesting that Mett threw darts at a board to pick which college he would attend? And the whole development argument is crap. We wouldn't have gone undefeated in 2011 with JJ/JL playing how they played in 2008/2009.

This is A FACT.............. Cant be argued.............

Some have ten years experience after a decade while others have one year of experience ten times.
Miles is much closer to the latter. Good coach with ongoing limitations.

Well?
No, Saban brought LSU out of mediocrity and solidified them as a nationally relevant program and SEC contender. Saban had as many championships in 5 years while transforming LSU as Miles has had in 10.
Saban is a much better coach today. Had he stayed at LSU, Alabama wouldn't be as good, and he'd likely have won more national championships.
While Saban coached at LSU, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia were powerhouses.
Today Alabama is the only other SEC program that's been perennially good. The league appears to have more parity, especially the SEC West, but its not considerably harder to win than it was a decade ago.
In the event that you were just asking about Miles's tenure relative to itself, the answer is still no. 2005-2007 were inarguably better than the past 3 seasons. 2011 was the lone bright spot. 2010 was good too.

Preach.
Seeing as there's no coordinators left to fire, this should be very, very telling.

Of course he is a better coach with 10 years experience in the SEC.
Real question is has he progressed as far as other SEC head coaches ???

Not IMO. He keeps losing ground to other coaches in the SEC last few years. Conservative to a fault. He's good for 8/9 wins a year every year. I don't think the bar is set very high with him anymore.

Since 2012:
0-3 v. Saban
1-1 v. Malzhan
3-0 v. Sumlin
1-1 v. Bielema
2-1 v. Mullen
2-1 v. Freeze
2-1 v. Muschamp
Also bearing in mind he went undefeated in 2011. To which coaches exactly is he "losing ground"?

He's out kicking his coverage now. He wins with superior talent and he's a great recruiter and only a so so gameday coach.
The problem he has now is he can't win with the talent cause the talent is leaving too early. And he's not a good enough coach to win with them right away, nor to talk them into staying another year.
That's why we're in this tail slide the last few years. So he can't win the big games with inferior talent and he can no longer win the big games with superior (but too young) talent.
I don't think that bodes well at all.

Yeah that JJ/JL combo down the stretch in 2011 was lethal.

I think if he gets a QB he believes in he will open it up more though.
Don't you guys see a disconnect though, I mean in the QB's he recruits and the offense he wants to run?
Wasn't Brandon Harris known coming out of H.S. as an "option read" QB? And Jennings as well?
