No. We are not a Blue Blood. We are a better program than most on the list. But to be a Blue Blood means the media has anointed you as such. I am not a big media basher, but we are not a program that the national media considers a perennial powerhouse. Also, we are not a program that the media WANTS to be a perennial powerhouse. I would put Georgia and Tennessee in that camp. But especially UGA. For whatever reason they just CRAVE Georgia having an elite level legacy…and they dont.

Who (1) is regularly over many decades winning and winning championships (2) who is less consistent but is perennially ranked too high and (3) who won a crap ton a long time ago? That is who the legacy media call blue bloods.

Dumb question. If you need to go back to 1939 to help develop a blue blood argument then this is a dumb question. Let’s talk about blue bloods in the modern football era.

This century's success firmly established LSU as a blue blood! Just look at the athletes we are putting in the NFL who are all pro caliber, and we are getting national exposure constantly. Especially the receivers. Just like the stat they put up last week. We have the top 3 receivers to record so many catches/yards the fastest starting out their careers. OBJ, then Chase and Jefferson. Add in the exposure we're getting with LSU alums all over tv. And winning 3 NCs with our last 3 coaches, and playing for another one. Kelly will continue our success and we're here to stay among the elite. You listen to national shows and LSU is always mentioned with the elite

Since ANY current recruit has been alive, we are CLEARLY the second best program in America. And if lil Nicky hadn't gotten the wild hair up his arse to go get ABSOLUTELY DOMINATED by real coaches in the NFL, we'd clearly be first. So hell yes we're a Blueblood.

Honestly if Rudy never came out, ND wouldn’t be on this list. LSU has had way more success than ND in the last 20 years.

I think if we have about 5 more 10 win seasons we’ll be in blue blood territory.

LSU and Georgia are virtually even. I give LSU the advantage due to more national championships.

I say no.
LSU never gets the "recognition" LSU fans think they should get. With that said, LSU has had a decent run since Saban came along, but it has been up and down.
I think we are seeing the beginning of a good run now, but I wouldn't include them in the blue blood list.

add Nebraska and you have them all.

People keep trying to put Nebraska up as a blue blood, but outside of Tom Osborne, what has Nebraska ever done?

Osborne got to Nebraska in 1973. Prior to that:

Nebraska was 17th in all-time wins, just ahead of #18, LSU.

Nebraska had not won a national championship, whereas LSU had.

Nebraska had losing records to Oklahoma, Minnesota, Pittsburg, Syracuse and Indiana after playing a minimum of 10 games.

The only thing really in their favor was the number of conference championships, where Oklahoma was their only real competition, and 16 of which came before the SEC was formed.

Not to mention they haven't done shite since Osborne left.

Basically, Nebraska is FSU. One coach. Hell, at least FSU has had two coaches win titles.

Problem is, no one around remembers Nebraska before Tom Osborne. People just assume Nebraska was some great program before him.

This is only a question that insecure fans ask.

There are no defined criteria for what exactly defines a blue blood. It's subjective, depends on your age, and how you tend to weight things.

Do you think John Wooden or Bear Bryant were concerned about whether other people would consider them blue bloods later? It's similar to the situation where if you need to ask the price, then you can't afford it. If you feel the need to ask if you're a blue blood, then it's obvious that you believe you're not.

Yes, we are blue bloods, we should act like it, and F anyone who disagrees. Just win baby.

Yes! We have won more National Titles than anyone other than the team not named in the last 25 years! That makes us a Blue Blood!

We are a Blue Blood. Tennessee is not and a few of those teams have almost lost their status

We are from the last 20 years of work with 3 titles and 1 other Natty appearance. We have passed Penn State, ND, Georgia and a few others

Programs over last 20 years I would put as more successful than LSU.

1. Bama

End of list.

If teams like ND, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Penn St, and Michigan are considered blue bloods.

Teams that have a combined 0 national championships during that stretch, I’ll pass.
