If we win another NC in the next 3 or 4 years i would say yes. Right now proably 10 or 11. With another NC we should be 7 or 8.

Yes, we are a blue blood. That is why Brian Kelly left Notre Dame to come here.

I would say LSU is barely outside of it.

Bama, ND, Michigan, Ohio St., USC, and Texas would be historical "blue bloods". Basically schools that have been top programs for over 50-60 years.

LSU would need a few more national championships to really make the case otherwise.

Notre Dame will eventually fallout of being a blue blood but I've got them in that group for now.

USC hasn’t been shite in nearly 20 years, but are major Blue Bloods.

ND hasn’t won a NC in 34 years, but are major Blue Bloods.

And I didn’t mention either.

I’d argue LSU has jumped Tenn and Ga.

You can't gain position as a blue blood.
You either are or you're no.

No, we are not a blue blood. 2011 taught you that.

I disagree, but if that’s the case, LSU is certainly above Georgia.

A Blue Blood, by definition, is someone with a legacy that puts them in that position. Kind of like the term old money. Their worth is assumed based on history, not necessarily their current situation or even recent history.

LSU is not a Blue Blood, neither is Penn St., Tennessee, or Georgia. The rest of your list is considered Blue Bloods, add Nebraska and you have them all.

Bama
Mich
Ohio St
USC
OK
TX
ND
Nebraska

People are starting to use the term Blue Blood to mean a perennial contender or powerhouse, They do not mean the same thing.

Blue bloods are old money, often not as wealthy as new money but still exerted influence, sometimes unwarranted, in the circles they live in.

IMO, this is one of the most overrated topics in college football. It really doesn’t matter. But, for the sake of conversation, LSU would be on this list before TX and UGA. Nebraska should be on this list too btw.

I always feel like Texas is too highly regarded in these discussions. Their historic accomplishments are basically LSU’s.

I get perception plays a big part in determining who is or isn’t a “blue blood,” but I feel like they are living off pure perception (versus someone like Notre Dame and maybe USC, living off REAL history) more than any others.

To people outside of our program no has always been the consistent answer I’ve seen online when this question is asked. most consider us a modern blue blood. Blue blood or not out program has been playing football since the 1800’s we are a school with great tradition and history. I consider us one but most don’t

You need to look at Tennessee’s history. They’re a blue blood.

I think that is true but those schools I listed show up as the traditional blue bloods.
