To me Florida, USC, Texas, Oklahoma and Alabama are the premier college football programs in the country

next are LSU, Va Tech, Ohio St, Penn St

and I think this is what everyone is afraid of

but IMO I also believe that LSU is the only school in that next category. That can be consistently a premier college football program

and I also believe Les can be the head coach here while we are a premier program

Bama? Doesn't a premier program have to win a conference title in recent memory and not get embarassed in a BCS game by a mid major to get premier status?

Things are really not all that good at OU, tOSU, or PSU, in my opinion, and VT has no national titles.

The decades is not today. Yes LSU has Been better than most of those on the premier list. But they aren't today. You know it. I know it

as for Bama being on the list. They've been consistently ranked in the top 3 the past two years. There elite don't kid yourself

LSU has more national championships than three of those this decade. This is the worst post ever.

Moreso than we were ten years ago. We were a well-respected, if not premier, program then; based on our historical national significance.

I'd venture to say the last decade has not diminished our historical national significance.

What qualifies as a "premier program"?

are you asking who is an elite program or who is an elite program the last 2 years?

You need to provide criteria for this question but I think you are all over the place. Why Okla and not LSU? Why include Va Tech in the same sentence as LSU?

To be a premier program, shouldn't you have a major bowl win recently (Bama) ?

Seeing how their are only 2 teams in existence with 2 BCS titles (LSU and Florida) how the hell is Bama ahead of LSU?

Please go root for one of your premier programs. And take a friend with you.

We have a better record than Oklahoma this year, also we don't get upset in our bowl games like "Big Game Bob".

Bama is in the next category. Gotta win your conference and a national title to get in that category in my opinion. But, I think they might join us this year.

Now, each year you could debate who is 1-5, depending on performance.

These schools get the top talent, have the top facilities, get the most media exposure and are at mentioned as contenders for the title each year.

Well, that just says that we're closer to those programs than we should be. But would you seriously be happy if you were a fan of one of those three programs right now? They all seem like they are on a decline or stuck being obsolete.

You might say the same about LSU--and I would disagree--but even if you were right, that doesn't make them a step up from us.

Two years does not make a decade. LSU has two BCS championships this "decade". Bama-none.

Talk to me three years from now and will see what Bama has done.
