didn't see that at all. His pocket awareness was not good. Reminds me of JJ - not an accurate passer and doesn't recognize when he should take off.

So I guess Mett reminded you of JJ all last year and some of this year too huh?

Seriously, you mention Mett and JJ in the same sentence when talking about passing accuracy and pocket awareness. Can you guess which one of those guys is going to earn a living in the NFL?

JJ not even close to Mett as a QB. Hope you know this. If not your QB knowledge isn't very good.

Mett was not accurate at all last year and he overthrew it a lot. He also didn't have any pocket awareness and could not recognize the corner blitz. I'm mentioning both because Mett has developed over time and Jennings can too. People act like Mett was dominating here last year in his first year start when JJ was actually better his first year.

The fact that you guys have selective memory on this is not surprising in the least.

Mett completed 58.8% of his passes last year and 64.9% this year. Who has selective memory? Any way you slice it 7/19 for 80+ yards is bad and is reminiscent of Jordan's failure as a QB - freshman or not.

Agreed

Page 1- RS halfback pass

AJ wasn't very elusive today, but positives other than in the wasn't dangerous with ball

I dont suppose our coaches were trying teach him to do something besides just take off and run...

I do agree he should have done that a few times today but i suspect that CC is trying get him to learn the passing game. Cant do that taking off with it every time he feels a little heat.

From what I saw today I don't think he is a major college QB. Hopefully Harris comes in an has the ability that is reported.

So this was by design today?

Iowa had 3 pretty decent LB that prevented some of the strategy we could implement with a QB like AJ. Today's game plan, power run and deep bombs was in response to this. IMO that is why you didn't see many screens , draws etc...

Less than stellar outing and was very surprised but it was a 1st game start in poor weather.
However, it was a 7 of 19 with less than 90 yards passing along with basically a pick 6. Seemed to have a very high level of indecision. Couple of times, he could have run but put out lame passes. When you have 2 NFL WRs on the field, it is hard to imagine being that . And not like we were playing Alabama's defense today either.
If today is any indication of our QB situation next season and going forward, get used to 8 and 9 in the box when we are on offense. It will be JJ Part II for several years. We will win and die on the running game, defense and special teams. We will cringe when we have to pass.
Time will tell but I am not sold on Jennings as the savior at QB.

Seriously, I didn't see a threat, except Hill..Maybe Jennings will develop, but he has a long ways to go, and the SEC won't be forgiving...

So true

He had the look of a freshman not yet comfortable with his progressions even on some of the quick game. As a result, he held the ball rather than take a chance. It looks like it is all happening too fast for him. The pick on the overthrow didn't help but at least he found the open guy - he just missed on the throw. When you have to play one a that isn't ready yet, I'd much rather go with the one that is too cautious with the ball than one that is not cautious enough. The only cure for that is reps, reps, reps. Spring and summer will definitely help. Even so, they'll probably have to ease him in to next season.

what does that have to do with Mett recognizing pressure last season?

Yeah...I'm sure Jennings was thinking of playing Auburn in 2014 when he was sitting in the pocket

it was also somewhat reminiscent of Mett's midseason 2012 inaccuracy when he completed less than 50% of his passes in 3 straight games. what he's saying is that inconsistency happens with young/ inexperienced QBs. most times they tend to improve.

I had to dvr most games, but every time is saw Jennings in the game it was a sneak or a zone read out of the pistol. I saw no zone read out of the pistol today
