One of my favorites that's for sure.

Jerry Stovall and Jimmy Taylor also say hello.

I'll never forget two receptions he made; both against Arky. One last year and the TD catch the year before. Unreal hands.

No. Josh reed was better. I don't care about the pros. Reed is and was the best WR I've seen in an LSU uniform.

Why do people always forget his freshman year? He made a HUGE play in his first career game. And the way he changed the course of games was unlike any player I've ever seen or heard/read about. Even if it was for just two years, he belongs in the discussion for GOAT.

And to address the OP, Jarvis is one of my all-time favorite LSU football players. I'm not sure he really belongs in any GOAT discussions, but he'll always go down as one of my favorites for how hard he played and how he always did what was asked of him for the good of the team. Oh, and he was a goddamn good WR.

I definitely wouldn't go that far. He's up there on the list of greats, though.

Dammit the first play I see is the ball bouncing off his hands for an interception
Posted on 11/23/14 at 6:14 pm to Fenwick86
Just had a ball go through his hands that led to an INT late in the game. Does not mean he is a bad player, he is one of the best, but ALL receivers have this happen!

Defender was holding his right arm. bullshite officiating

a HUGE play
one play doth not make, I love him as a Tiger, and it was obvious that he was going to be something special but he wasn't here long enough to be in the convo, unless OP is asking who was good here but ultimately became great after he left, and the jury is still out on that too

It wasn't just one play, man. I mentioned the huge play in the UNC game to illustrate that he was an elite playmaker from the very beginning of his career.
He had five forced fumbles, two recoveries, two interceptions, 4.5 sacks, 59 tackles (34 solo) and 8.5 TFL as a freshman and was the MVP of the Cotton Bowl.
ETA: 5 forced fumbles as a freshman, not two.

Landry is underrated to me. I can't think of another former LSU receiver I would pick over him.
As for overall player, that's different. He is still one of the greats in my book.

Jarvis wouldn't be in the top 25 greatest football players in LSU history
