There is a one point safety - there have been two that I know of, and the same announcer called them both.

First one

Second one

Yes Oregon scored a one point safety against KSU in the Fiesta Bowl.

You are correct about the possibility of a 1 point safety but that goes to the defense on a PAT. The score would be 6-0 at that point

only way to score only 1 point besides kicking a PAT, is with a one point safety, which has to happen on a PAT attempt, so a score of 1-0 is not possible.

1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, and 7-1, are the only score that are impossible to achieve in football.

OK, I get that, but how could the blocking team get only one point? The original question is was it possible to have a score 20-1 or 1-0 and I don't think that is possible.

In a scoreless game, if a team scores a touchdown and the extra point attempt is blocked and the ball gets kicked around until the kicking team falls on it in their own end zone, it will be a one point safety for the defense. So the score would be 6-1, at that point.

I believe running back a blocked extra point counts 2 points.

I think in the pros only. In college I think a turnover just immediately ends the play for a point after attempt.

2 would be the lowest point total a team could have, so the answer is no.
