Is it kinda annoying that LSU fans centers everything around Alabama?

SOME LSU fans. Not all, but yes I find it annoying for example when someone mentions say a few 5 stars we got and the first comment is “Well, that’s nice, BUT these guys won’t beat Bama for us.” Things like that I find annoying.

If you can beat Bama, you can beat any of the other teams in the SEC. it’s just the way it is. If Vandy had won 5 national championships in the last 8 years we would all be centering on Vandy. It has nothing to do with Bama being Bama. If they sucked, we wouldn’t give a shite about them.

I don't think people pay / give the LSU football program 147 million dollars every year to not win the sec championship every once in a while - Alabama has eliminated LSU 8 straight seasons. If we beat Bama this whole time, but it was Florida - you'd hear the same talk about Florida - just like it used to be.

I see the majority of people today talking about basketball where we are undefeated in the SEC. Not a lot of mentions of that other team.

It’s because they’re the standard. If it was Florida in the playoff every year then our biggest obstacle would be Florida.
Bamas won the SEC 5 of the last 7 years. If we develop a team that can beat Bama then that team can beat any other school that we play.

It’s not that the other teams on the schedule are not important. There is just no other team on our schedule that dominated our offensive line like Bama did. That was evident to anyone who watched last year’s game, including Orgeron, who observed immediately after the game LSU needed to get better players on their offensive line.
No other team came close to dominating LSU on the line than Bama did. If we want to win the SEC we have to be better than Bama right now, it’s a sad reality. If you are better than Bama, no need to talk about the other teams, you’ll be better than them for sure.
If you are setting a standard it should be trying to get better than the best.
