Is it just me or did Kelly look disinterested. He had zero fire or sense or urgency.

Maybe I’m just used to having a circus clown on the sideline but I was surprised by the lack of enthusiasm he showed. I find it very concerning.

I saw him chewing arse quite a few times. Kelly isn't that hoorah kind of coach.

He looked calm and in control to me. He did get fired up and curse the refs out when they reviewed the play on the goal line.
That was fun to see

It’s just you. Shocking, I know

Just you. There were plenty of times he showed fire. He's not gonna constantly scream or act like a lunatic, like Muschamp. He's just not.
Specifically, I saw him on the headset cussing at a coach when we took to long to get a play call in. Saw him yelling at Daniels for calling a timeout in the first half. Saw him cussing at an OL player at one point. He was cussing the refs after the fiasco with them stopping our TD play at the 1 to do a review.
He had plenty of fire.

That’s not the problem. The problem is that he whiffed on his coordinators hires

His halftime comment was something about how they couldn't play any worse that they did in the first half, but he didn't know for sure because he just got there.
The whole game, he looked like he just got there and was a disinterested observer. Maybe he's like that his whole career, but it was funny/odd.

I kind of like it, honestly. He acts like a baseball coach. Calm and collected.

He turned red a couple times and screamed at the players and some assistants when they called a TO. He let the refs have it a couple times too. You want the clowns that stood there clapping and mumbling back?

Of all the absurd takes going around right now about Kelly, this is one I have to admit I found to be an interesting observation at least.
I honestly think Kelly wanted to sit back and just kind of observe these players in live action to see who they are and how they respond when the lights are on.
Yes this was a huge game and we all wanted to win, Kelly especially. But in the grand scheme of things I’m hoping and really think he may have felt it was more important to just watch the team in order get to know what each of these players is made of and how the team as a whole operates as a unit.
This is just a guess obviously, but the one thing I know for sure is that no the stage wasn’t too big for the guy that coached Norte fricking Dame for a decade and I certainly have to assume he wasn’t just disinterested like others have said
Kelly knows this is a marathon not a sprint and didn’t want to be the story of the night by making himself the center of attention on the sideline and just wanted to focus on the players.

You ever been so mad that you are seriously trying to hold it together? That is how he looked to me. He said it in the press conference, that we are who we are. 39 returning scholarship players, all new DB's and O-Line and all but one coach. Let that sink in and temper your expectations.

He looked like a coach who knows he’s got a rebuild ahead of him. He didn’t lose control when they got beat, and only chewed arse when they made boneheaded mistakes.

Naw! IMO he was just soaking it all in. Like where do I start to fix this team? I suggest he start with Special Team, but I'm not the coach.
Brian Kelly is a great coach. He will do what has to be done to make this Tigah team competitive and in the running for an NC. But he needs what many in TigerNation lack. Patience and Affirmation.
Does this Tigah team have heart? Absolutely. A coach(s) can do a lot with a team that has heart.
I recall LSU teams from the past going up against monsters. I mean like 215-225 lb LSU defensive linemen going up against 240-265+ O/L monsters. And whipping them. Tenacity, speed, and heart boys.

10 million for a stunned mullet!

Some of y’all really think there’s no way a guy can coach unless he’s yelling and jumping around on the sidelines.

The emotional immaturity on display among our fans is stifling.
You'd think they were children that just got stiffed by Santa.

They kept showing a close up of him in the second quarter. What I saw was a man who had come to the realization that his team's talent was lacking upon seeing them compete against another team.
