I am so tired of the word fair. Got to make everything fair or someone's feelings will get hurt.

It's not about fair. It's about real world coaching jobs. You get paid what you are worth. If an employer is underpaying a coach a competitor will step in and hire them away for more (see: Dave Aranda). If someone were to go after Beth Torino and LSU wants to keep her she'll get a raise. Same goes for Chuck Winstead.

No equal pay crap on this board please.
Beth is a great coach and deserves more but the job brings what it brings.

Is this some gender equality bullshite?

Idk how it works, but I'll go out on a limb and say softball gets more scholarship money. So they use up what little money they make, making it non profit sport. Just like all of them not baseball and football.

Yes softball gets overall more but not more per player. The NCAA allows men's golf 4.5. LSU has 8 golfers on the roster. The NCAA allows softball 12 and LSU has a 23 player roster.

Per roster spot, golf is actually allowed slightly more money.

The only thing that determines a person's (coach's) value is the skill set that they bring to their job. The better they are the more they make. The market will dictate the value of each and obviously the value of a high end men's golf coach is slightly higher than a high end women's softball coach.

Both are two of the best in the business and I hope LSU does what it has to do to keep them in purple and gold.
