You guys really need to stop this. Talk about one spoiled arse fan base. So what you are saying about CPM is that he just wins because of talent alone? bullshite, he has won at every school he has coached at. What the frick has Notre Dame done since he left there? Tell me that geniuses?

And with CLM, do any of you geniuses know how hard it is to win and to win consistently? Good God I am done here with this topic!

Just real mediocre performance by him.

So it's CPM'S fault the pitchers couldn't throw strikes and throw to first base?

Bertman also had advantages on roster limits and most other teams in baseball not caring about being competitive. Lets be fair here.

This is a great point. College baseball is much more competitive today than it was 20 years ago when Skip coached (in large measure due to Skip).

We saw what happened the one year he outtalented most of his competition.

I can assure you that the Cajuns have never outtalented most of their competition (except for the weak sunbelt).

outplayed maybe. but, definitely not outtalented.

Do you seriously think putting PM here in the same time frame Bertman took over that PM would have those same results in the first 9 years that Bertman did? PM took over a power house. Bertman not so much.

Not sure Smoke left him a powerhouse but he does have a tradition that Skip didn't have. That can be good and bad. And I also think that Skip had a few advantages relative to bats and the general competitiveness of the SEC and college baseball at the time.

All that being said, PM is no Skip and I believe I said that. But he is a good coach and has put together several good seasons. Skip's legacy was made over the next 9 seasons and will be difficult (I would contend impossible) to repeat.

Let's see......Not starting one of the best pitchers in the country first game of CWS....leaving a pitcher in when he throws 8 pitches in a row and none are caught by the catcher. (2 hit batters and 6 bounced pitches). Switching the lineup to start the biggest tourney in the sport.......do I need to continue?????
