The only dumb asses are those who don't understand the rule. Targeting applies to a defenseless player.

plus you can't launch your self at a player like he did.
We at the Rant did not make the rule.

Earlier they had a clear shot at Jennings and backed off. I don't think they wanted to knock him out of the game.
Ah yes, the tactical "backing off from a big hit to keep a subpar player in the game" ploy.
That Nick Saban. He truly is a genius coach using maneuvers like this.

Yes, he hit him with his helmet...in the shoulder...which is legal.
Rule 9-1-3 disagrees.
Rule 9-1-3: Targeting and initiating contact with the crown of the helmet. No player shall target and initiate contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. When in question, it is a foul.

Which brings up another great point. Why is fournette returning kicks in the first place?
And any players, LF or otherwise, who runs right into oncoming defenders had to know the end result.

The opponent has to be defenseless by definition of targeting.
That is the most incredibly wrong thing you have ever said
You clearly don't know the rule

Meh...
Had his right arm out, so it looked like he was trying to lead with his right shoulder, but caught him with the helmet. Good no call. I mean, are you no longer supposed to "put your hat on the ball"? Because there's no fricking way you can do that with your face mask first.

"No player shall target and initiate contact against an opponent with the crown (top) of his helmet. When in question, it is a foul."
LF is injured and that is my only concern - whether he is being asked to do too much heavy contact in our unbalanced offense rather than getting him to the perimeter and in space where he can get up some steam.
At LSU they wear mouthpieces that measure the G force that each hit causes. When the cumulative total exceeds the safety limit they are supposed to be in non-contact for a recovery period. He was held out of contact for several days prior to either ALA or ARK.
The players and fans were on the field. There were infractions for unsportsmanlike conduct. You can see the ref eyeing the onfield celebration.
This crown of the helmet rule has nothing to do with helmet to helmet or above the shoulders.
Foster definitely is leading with the crown of his helmet and he wears a special brace and collar because he does this and, yes, he is going to ruin or break his neck.
Saban revels in this dirt. He intimidates the refs into picking up flags. He wins. He is in their faces. I do not whine about the way a game is officiated, but ALA, FLA, and Miss State got wins from bad officiating. I think we choked and did not play all out offensively to win. Always having to come from behind or clinging to a 3 pt lead is not putting the game away. If the defense scooped and scored the Yeldon fumble that would have been how we won Florida, and Ole Miss with a superb defensive effort bailing out our SEC worst offense.

Collins knocked LF out oh really? you must not know what a a knockout hit is. Collins took his legs out and one the battle in the hole dipshit.

He hit LF with his shoulder not his helmet. It only looks like a hit with his helmet due to this camera angle. Why does our fan base insist on crying about referees after evey loss. I just don't get it.
I'm not crying about the referees and no call cost us that game, but if you believe this player led with his shoulder instead of his head, you are blind!
