not asking likely, just theoretically possible? Or are there BCS rules preventing this?

I'm pretty sure it's not possible.

No rules preventing this but polsters will do some shianagens(sp) to prevent this. Would stil require Oregon, Boise, and TCU loses.

Will never happen. Now if it was Ohio Michigan or USC/oregon, it definitely could.

Close to being an impossibility. The Human vote is not going to allow this to happen. Now maybe some weird way that they win BSC and we win AP, who knows.

Anythings possible with the BCS, dont think there are rules against this just that no other SEC school would be in a BCS bowl.

I don't think there is a rule against it, but I think it would be highly unlikely from the human influence.

If oregon and boise loses... it might be a tough race for LSU/TCU. And also if all three of oregon, boise and tcu lose and auburn wins out... LSU has a strong case.

I would think it would be possible if the non-AQs lose a game and the BCS conf teams lose 2 games leaving LSU and the non-aq teams with 1 loss.

Every other senerio just screams of the human voters changing their ballots the last weekend to put a team other than another SEC team against Auburn. Doesnt matter what the computers say if the human voters all vote for one team to play Auburn.

It could be close with LSU at #3 in human polls and a non-aq team in #2 with the human votes being slip. Then LSU could get in. LSU at #4 in the human polls though wouldnt get us in.

But that would NOT COUNT according to LSU fans about USC in 2003.

TCU is getting 1st place votes though. LSU is not.

Now if Oregon and Boise lose then that sets us a very good situation for LSU if AU would lose the SECCG. (If they win the SECCG and lose to Bama I believe the voters put AU in over us)

But Im not sure what they do if AU loses the SECCG. They wouldnt be SEC Champions. There would be a push to put Oregon in the Title game over us though.

Sadly, looking at their schedule, TCU will not lose

They have San Diego St and Nevada left

That kills any chance of this happening

Boise and Oregon have a better chance at dropping one game but still yet TCU will get in over LSU which BS looking at schedules

LSU would have to win and Aubie lose 2 then win the SECCG, if that would actually happens, no way in hell TCU gets the nod over LSU.

I think it could be very interesting if Oregon and Boise lose and LSU wins out and AU fails to win the SEC.

Oregon wouldnt have the computers. LSU would. The humans would have to raise Oregon over LSU which is possible with Oregon playing on Dec 4th and LSU not playing.. But if the humans split the vote too much LSU could get in based on the computers.

It is possible but a lot would have to happen in order for that to occur. It was close to happening with Michigan and Ohio State back in 2006, but the big reason that it didnt was that Michigan had played OHio State the last game of the year so they didnt want to see an immediate rematch. If they had played earlier in the year (like LSU vs Auburn) the pollsters would have been more likely to vote for this matchup.

This is a classic case of situational ethics PJ. Forget we even had that discussion about '03.

If Oregon loses just once they are no longer a factor. Same for TCU and Boise.

According to BCS experts the only team that can afford a loss this late is Auburn and that loss can only be Bama basically but then they have to win the SEC CG.
