Is a 50 defense on the way?

At one point during the game with MSU, the Tigers went with a fifty look inside the ten; it was not a goal line look. I think the front five was Hunter, Lacouture, Johnson, Ferguson, and Allen. I do not know who the Mike and Will were. This defense stopped the Bulldogs cold. We are much "beefier" against the run. Is the Chief looking to change to take advantage of personnel?

It's probably a matter of using the personnel you are most efficient with in certain situations taking what the offense has. It's not a matter of going out there and dictating using your defense. We just don't have the horses this year.

That alignment sounds disastrous if they get to the second level.

It's essentially just a 3-4 with the outside backers walked up.

Which is a variation of the 50. Do you think that Allen and Hunter have the speed to cover the flats?

It was just an adjustment ala A&M last year.

I noticed the same alignment several times in the second half. It looked like Alexander & Barrow as LB's. I also noticed that it was working pretty good and it is something LSU might look at to shore up the rushing defense and to get pressure on the QB. Let's see if it is used more in the Florida game.
