imho (in my humble opinion) if you enjoy the student section yelling: sttdb (suck that tiger d..., bi.t.h!) then yeah, go ahead.
if you are ok w/ the cursing, cussing and drunkenness, your grandkids will grow up to be just like you.

p.s. imho, NO. unless you are in the old expensive sections w/ old guys like us. but you can still hear the students almost to the south end.

I found the west upper deck to be quiet. Like library quiet. Felt detached from the game. So your grandson won't hear vulgarities there.

Yeah a 4yr old will be bored and won't sit and let you enjoy the game either. No point in going. Wait til he's about 7 or 8.

I have twin 4 year old boys and took them to a day game vs a lesser opponent last year with the excpectation of leaving at halftime. IMO, that's the attitude you should take. I would also suggest bringing ear plugs or ear muffs. One of my kids couldnt handle the noise and we were lucky that someone behind us had a spare set for him.

I also think its worth it for the pre game activities outside of the stadium.

Yeah. Introduce him to adults getting drunk and acting like fools.

Yeah, because that's what's happening on victory hill and the PMAC.

I took my youngest to his first game when he was two, and my middle son when he was 4. They have always gone the distance!

"IMHO" the people whose kids don't last thru halftime are probably the ppl who don't stay the whole game, anyway.

Come on, man! Nobody who's 4 has a grandson.
Seriously--too young.

I tend to agree with those who say that 4 is too young. My only qualification would be that 4 might work if it's a day game and you don't mind leaving early. If you're talking about a night game, and you're interested in staying to the end, I think 6 or probably even 7 is about as young as I would go.

Auto correct. I meant "my not IMHO". Anyway, now I'm concerned. Since the game will not be a sold out crowd, wonder if there would be a problem with our moving to the nosebleed or to a more family oriented part of the stadium after pregame?

Also, I thought about headphones and an iPad once the game started for him. We will probably have to leave a little after half anyway as my husband will not want to sit in traffic for days.

Ok, I have only ever run down victory hill. I have never been to watch. We have tickets to a tailgate party for band, GG, Tigerette and color guard alums in the PMAC Is that a rough and bawdy crowd or are there kid friendly spots?

I think he will be fine. We started bringing my daughter when she was 3. Every year she lasts a little bit longer. We sit on the west bleachers so we don't usually hear a lot of vulgar language. we usually bring some crayons and a coloring book and some other things to keep her interested. Last year she was 4 and made it a whole game. We also try to get her involved by doing the moves to the band and dancing and stuff like that.

Just go into it being on his schedule. If he wants to leave then leave.

The march down the hill is great! We always try to get right by the stadium up against the rail so my daughter can see. She loves it

Since it is probably not a sold out game, do you think we could move up there after Pre game. It is that or go home. I haven't been to a game in years. I don't know about security and seat jumping but i am really glad I asked this question. There is no option to leave him behind and I do not want to deal with the language.

IMHO the chance of getting separated in the crowd are too great to bring a kid if they can't recite their parents cell number which is useless at the stadium anyways. I waited until 5 for my son and wrote all my contact info(including home phone)inside my sons hat and had him keep ticket stub inside his brim just in case.

You can't move from the lower bowl to the upper deck without a ticket for an upper deck seat.
