Based on that theory, LSU should have continued to play Nebraska in either the Sugar or Orange bowls in '88 and '90, being that the "trend" was playing them in major bowls in '82, '84, and '86. Instead, LSU started LOSING.

Nope. TWO SEC titles. LSU won the SEC in 2011. Not Saban.

I think Bama will most likely make the playoff, but not because they win the SEC.

Make no mistake about it, while Saban has accomplished a lot there, do not think for a moment that he did not need a TON of help outside of his control to win it.

2003 at LSU - Need I go on about the BCS and waiting until Midnight for HI to lose?

2009 - Yup. Good work! Unbeaten, UT's QB gets hurt, TITLE.

2011 - Lose the GOTC and wait on ESPN to put him in the title game over the team that deserved it.

2012 - Bama, and UGA, both benefitted from having the easiest SEC schedule. Simple as that. Not to mention UGA blew it. Mark Richt struck again.

2013 - Lose to AU, but if there was a playoff, Saban and Bama would have been there, for sure, waiting on AU to win the SEC so AU could win the right to "rematch" the team they already beat (similar to what LSU had to do in 2011).

You people act as if Bama has gone unbeaten since 2009 while playing these amazing schedules. Not the case.

Point is, everyone needs help to win in CFB. Some are luckier than others. I hear all the time how lucky Miles is. Yes, he is, but Saban is the luckiest MoFo to walk the sidelines every Saturday. Most talent, and the most luck. Good combo.

That bad. But, then again, the 2002 Bama game was the worst LSU game I ever watched in person.

Forgot about that one that year as one of the loses. Yikes. 31-0 against a has-been coach.

That 02 Bama game in Tiger Stadium was awful. Frickin freezing cold, got blanked 33-0. The only play the fans cheered to was the direct snap fake punt to Bradie James. Bama optioned LSU to death in that game.

It was actually the delay draw.

I remember a drive prior to HT where they ran that same play at least five times in a row and got 10-15 yards a play.

Saban has 1 sec title and 1 bcs title with his own recruits. I'm told that matters

And recall, 2002 was a literal fricking (Bluegrass) miracle away from being 7-6.

Also recall in 2002, that LSU was a literal fricking (Markham) miracle away from going to back to back SEC Championship games.

I forgot about that - that was 2 mediocre SEC-W teams playing for the spot in the final regular season game - while I think UGA would have handled us, it's a shame we had to lose to what was certainly the worst SEC-W to ever play in that game... After dropping the SEC-CG to UGA 30-3, they lost to unranked Minnesota in the Music City Bowl by 2 touchdowns.

Lord and Savior, Nick Saban, would never lose a game on a hail mary. Not with those NFL DBs knocking the ball down. No way Arky would score on Webster, Daniels and company. No way.

Well, in 2012 Auburn was the shits, and went to the BCSNCG in 2013. Why can't LSU do it too?

Be patient folks. Don't abandon the program. See the pattern and deal with it accordingly.

What part of coaching change do you people not get with regards to Auburn?

I like the every 4 year trend. How do we fix the bad trends in between every 4 years?

Has a team ever had a huge improvement from one year to the next without one of these three things?

new head coach
new offensive or defensive coordinator
new QB

I actually kind of agree with you, and good analysis. I have no problem making an appearance in the NC every four years, my problem is how ugly, chaotic, and disorganized our program looks in the other years where we don't.
