Riveting article that brings significant insight into this whole ordeal, thanks!

How is it interesting? It's the same crap that's been wrote about since it first became public.

Pay the money you owe. That's why they call it a contract.

A&M did not announce Chavis' hiring until Feb. 13, although he had been photographed wearing Aggies gear on recruiting trips during January.
This is where he loses.
If I'm LSU I would definitely ask for the $400K first.
But, I would file an alternative claim saying that if, AS HE READILY ADMITS IN HIS FILINGS, that he was still working for LSU in January, then he breached his contract with LSU by working against LSU's interest by recruiting for its RIVAL, and therefore LSU should be awarded extracontractual damages FAR IN EXCESS of the $400,000.
Also, LSU should sue A&M for intentional interference with a contractual relationship by bringing an LSU employee on its recruiting trips.

As someone who generally eats up and any all LSU-related football news, I find myself overwhelmingly bored by, and uninterested in, this story. Am I missing something? Should I care?

Sue the crap out of them, LSU.

It's really kind of ridiculous that Chavis is trying to hang his hat on giving his notice on 1/5. That doesn't mean dick. You were still employed by LSU for those 30 dayy. I can't give a 2 weeks notice, not show up for those 2 weeks and go start working for another company and not expect anything to be done about it.
