At its core, practice habits seem to be the main emphasis. Making practices harder than the games, to put it in the most simple terms.

“The harder you practice the easier the game is,” junior receiver Terry Godwin said. “I would say the culture change to us is just buying into what Coach Smart brought in. I feel like the majority of this team has done it. And it goes to show on game day. You see what it’s producing.”

The changes began in his first year, trying to make practices more difficult, and also having players do extra lifting during the season.

quote:

They’ve bought in to the fact that if they’re physical on Tuesday and Wednesday, they’ll be physical on Saturday. That’s carrying over.

Very different from what O is doing with our team. I know there are different formulas for success, but I think O's shorter less intense practices have resulted in a less physical team.

Everyone said Miles worked the team too hard.

O took it easy and because that conditioning was already there we did well.

O just does the opposite of Miles to gain fan points.

Orgeron had a list of player bitches and gripes against Miles and implemented every one to get the locker room behind him.

The inmates are running the asylum.

Working hard the right way doesn't mean running players into the ground. Les' issue was that he thought running the plays over and over would solve the problems. It was never a fundamental flaw in his philosophy in his mind, but just a lack of perfecting the craft through repetition.

O, on the other hand, seems to think it was purely that LSU was practicing too much and not doing enough film study, which he doesn't understand outside of DL, so what happens? LSU is now a weak/less physical team that wastes their time with inefficient or inappropriate methods of films studies.

It's a double whammy and that is why you are getting the shite product you are seeing right now. Add in no leadership from the players, and you get this disaster.

They did through 2 games. Heard plenty of "this is so refreshing" "never saw this under Les" etc. until things went sideways.

Yeah, but does Kirby have a "tell the truth Monday"? No? I didn't think so.

Just want to point out...

longer =/= harder

you can be short(er), but efficient and have harder/tough practices.

not saying that's what CEO is doing right now, but there seems to be much misconception out there.
