This article is obviously fake. That or we have been lied to all this years about the capacity of Tiger Stadium.

Damn that really sucks, thats why i dont mind going to the shitty games, people are trying to give tickets away.

Same here. I have had a ticket to all 3 home games so far this season given to me for no cost. I even offered to pay each time.. the "seller" did not even want any $$.

Unless the ticket scanning machines are flawed, idk if the article is "fake."

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, there is no fricking way in hell that stadium has EVER had 20k less than capacity unless there might have been some type of natural disaster/issue that maybe someone of the older fans can speak to. Go back and look at the pics of the Saints games , that's what 20k missing looks like.

I will also say that those comments from Alleva and Broussard are not indicative of their personalities.

Another thing to consider is that if this was the case we wouldn't be expanding the stadium.

If the paid attendance is there, why would this be the case?

I find it really hard to believe we haven't broken 90k for Florida in 07, 09 or Bama in 08, 10.

ok so im sitting here debating weather to go to the game tomorrow or stay home, first let me say i haven't missed but two home games in 15 years and never leave early.so the cons of going tailgate and go to the game......1] terrible opponent 2)all day rain 3)family/kids will be miserable with the weather, therefore i will be miserable 4)have pulled muscle in my back(hurts like hell).now the pros.....1)i can only think of one and that is getting to watch the tigers play.so i have come to the conclusion that the pro out weighs the cons and as usual ill be there tomorrow.

I decided to skip this game in June, on my way to Seattle for a wedding, I don't feel bad, LSU has the money for the ticket.

ETA: to the LSU fan going,

For the tldrs

quote:

2008:
Appalachian State (morning game/ESPN Classic) - 91,922 paid; 62,800 actual; 32 percent no-shows

North Texas (night game/TigerVision) - 91,602 paid; 65,600 actual; 29 percent no-shows

2009:

Tulane (night game/TigerVision) - 92,031 paid; 60,150 actual; 35 percent no-shows

2010:
Louisiana-Monroe (night game/TigerVision) - 92,518 paid; 69,100 actual; 25 percent no-shows

2011

Western Kentucky (night game/ESPNU) - 92,917 paid; 77,400 actual; 16 percent no-shows

2012
North Texas (night game/ESPNU) - 92,059 paid; 72,000 actual; 22 percent no-shows
Washington (night game/ESPN) - 92,804 paid; 80,300 actual; 13 percent no-shows
Idaho (night game/TigerVision) - 92,177 paid; 73,400 actual; 21 percent no-shows

Good point about scheduling the poor teams.

Good points about the entry situation. The war of terror has made TS a lot less fun. This coming from someone who missed very few home games from '88 to 2004. Moved away and went back in 07 and couldn't believe how much it had changed. The new perimeter fence, the security, no smoking, pay parking everywhere... It used to be more fun IMO. More of a free for all you might say. Park wherever, multiple gates to enter, light searches (easy to sneak in liquor), smoking allowed, cheaper tickets, etc.

I'm glad as anyone that the Tigers are more successful now, but the tradeoff is that the rules have gotten much stricter, and the costs to attend and tailgate have increased quite a bit.

Who wants to pay extra, put up with all the new extra BS, to see the Tigers play a crap opponent and leave at halftime?

Apparently a large number of ticket-holders would rather stay home for the rent-a-wins.

I'm not condoning it, but I can see why they feel that way.

Gotta to give it to you there. That is dedication and I would be doing the same if I still lived in Gonzales. My Brother in law, sister and neice and nephew will still be making good use of my tickets.

I really dont think this is accurate. there wasnt an empty seat from what I could see.

Tomorrows absentee numbers should eclipse all those. With the pay for parking and $50 per trailer fee, it makes the decision to not attend a little easier. Stay at home and save money.

Not to mention Towson is the worst of all those teams with large no show numbers and the weather forecast really can't get much worse (all day rain heavy at times with lightning and thunder).

So LSU is intentionally lying to make their numbers look SMALLER?????

The concept that people don't understand is that the stadium can "appear" full when it is not. The people who have bleacher seats spread out when the person next to them is not there. Instead of being packed in like sardines, people can actually be comfortable. To the naked eye, a row with 30 seats can look full if only 20 people are in it.

Just because you don't see huge gaps of empty seats doesn't mean the stadium is "full"
