Does anyone know if you can just walk around the stadium with an ice chest and drink beer at NRG?

The bars in the area would be a good choice. Who the hell wants to drag an ice chest around all day?

Yes you can, but bars along the metro route are the way to go. Hop on after you're good and sloshed.

Better get an ice chest with wheels that you won't mind losing

I did that one time in Baton Rouge. Put it under ramp going up to pmac. Just knew it would be gone. Came out after game and it was still there with beer in it!

I'd recommend mid-town followed by a train ride to the stadium.

Though to be honest, they were not prepared for the early morning rush of LSU fans for the Wisconsin game 2 years ago. Hopefully they have learned.

Any specific place to go to pre-game?

This is no problem.

Stood in line waiting to get into a parking lot with Wisconsin fans who had an ice chest. They were passing beers around to us.

Yea, they put on a Super Bowl. Pretty sure they know how to handle a preseason college game.

I found a ice chest under the PMAC during the game and figured no one wanted it so I took it home.

Need to get something like this. They have them at Kohl's, Academy, Dicks, Wal-Mart, etc.

Usually hold 18-24 cans.

Yes but they planned accordingly for the crowd. For LSU v Wisc several places treated it like a typical summer Saturday lunch. Needless to say many were understaffed.

Not sure how you can say this with a straight face after the LSU-Wisconsin post-game train shitshow.
