In from the game and immediate thoughts..

First off, it seems like we had a different playbook for Etling and Harris. Maybe, it seemed that way due to the immediate effectiveness of Etling's passing, who knows? We will know more next week.
Etling was accurate on the short/intermediate routes and was on early with his passes. His problems after that awesome 2nd quarter was moreso due to lack of reps. He was late on some throws (the INT), he just missed Guice down the sideline for a TD off his fingertips and had some drops which hurt his overall stats. The dude also has some decent wheels and picked up yardage when needed, something Harris didn't do at all last weekend.
Dupre needs to get his head out of his arse. He dropped a perfect pass from Etling in the 2nd quarter and didn't help Etling on that endzone INT.
Did Guice lose a step? I thought he should have had at least one more TD, but was caught by defenders on more than one occasion.
The defense needs to stop taking risks when they are out on an island. The long TD pass was a bad play by Jackson. Speaking of Jackson, he was pulled in the game for Paris who appears to be a much better cover corner. And don't get me started on the Tepper-esque 10 yard cushion Jackson was giving his receivers, too. When Paris replaced him, he was in a bump and run at the LOS with zero cushion.
Other than the blocked XP on the first TD, the STs were light years better than last weekend. Tre White was awesome on the PRTD, Growden finished with a 41 yard average on punts and Gamble was putting the KOs inside the 5 between the hash and the sideline, where he is coached to kick it.

Never seen LSU run that trips "pick" play before. Probably will be the last time we'll ever see it.

This happened before the TD, and I'm not sure if it was DJ or Adams' fault on the TD. The guy split them and took it to the house. DJ had some trouble tonight.

I don't think that long TD was entirely on Jackson. Adams looked like he got caught cheating on that play. Jackson shouldn't have tried to jump the outside either tho. Somebody has to stay home on the play

He was giving too much cushion. I don't know if it was scheme related, but Paris came in and gave zero cushion when he replaced him.

When I saw the JSU TD live I thought Adams try to jump the route but misread the angle.

I noticed this immediately!
I think it shows the coaches had little confidence in BH6's abilities.

Why. The. frick. Was. He. On. The. Field. Then?

Adams took a horrible angle on a terrible gamble. That TD was on him.

I don't understand this assessment.
Harris threw 3 passes and they weren't even close. And one went to towards the TE. The drive ends. Etling completes 3, and the drive continues.
Why does everyone thintk the play calling was different? Honest question.

Formations definitely had different wrinkles

Becuz that is what it looks like when you have a competent qb, that's why he seems like a different play book.

It almost looked like Jackson followed Adams' jump on the ball. As if he thought Adams was INTing it or something and didn't know where the ball actually was. Jackson's move up field was very odd and that was the only thing that made sense to me

Where have you been the last few years? Les's hard-headedness was not going to have Etling start the game. After the booing started, Les made the QB change.
And I agree with your question. Why was he on the field when he hasn't been productive.
Oh, Les's hard-headedness!

Is there any way in hell you think they call all of their timeouts before the half to get the ball back if Harris was in there sailing it over TE and WR heads in the middle of the field?

The counters we ran out of the shotgun sure seemed new.

I agree with your assessment. You should know that Guice took responsibility for the incomplete pass that would have been a touchdown. I am not trying to cast blame (just one of those things that happen int the course of a game) but he clearly considered the miss his fault.

I love Les, as a person, but he drives me crazy as a coach. Harris has struggled with the short to intermediate pass from day one. How did they not see, in practice, what we saw on the field last night?

The reason the play book looks different for Etling vs. Harris is because HE KNOWS IT.
Harris appears lost out there because he is.
