And they got Wade fired for it. The media will target who they don’t like no matter what they do.

Everyone is. He probably shouldn’t have said that. Especially after he publicly stated how badly we need a DT. And they aren’t only talking about Kelly.

These people are morons. Kelly will buy players. He won't overpay for players. Huge difference. But he can't outright say that because then they'll get pissed that he's treating them like a cattle auction which is exactly what it is anyway. You have bunch of guys putting themselves up for auction.

Then he shouldn’t have said anything at all. No one forced him to say that. He should know that saying something like that is going to grab people’s attention. I don’t understand why some of y’all can’t just admit that it was a dumb thing to say.

No.

I am showing the continued bias towards Kelly & LSU Athletics by Yahoo.

Dabo has been adamant about this at Clemson. Not necessarily with NIL, but he has only taken ONE player in from the portal ever.

I think it’s fine. You got your Deion’s of the world that believe in paying for players & complete roster turnover & then you’ve got your Dabo’s & BK’s who are more focused on building a culture/winning program.

Why shouldn’t he? Maybe clarify the statement by saying “we’re not overpaying for role players OR non-program guys”

That statement is going to end up getting spread to recruits everywhere that LSU is "cheap"

Right. Not paying a basic DL over a million $$$ is going to be the downfall of the program.

Won't be the downfall.. that's a bit drastic

But this video will absolutely be used by others schools to negatively recruit against LSU

BK should've kept that in-house. He gained absolutely nothing from making that statement. It doesn't matter how much you try to twist it, it wasn't a good move to volunteer that statement publicly. It created an unnecessary overreaction from the media and gave other schools ammo to negatively recruit against LSU.

If you don't want to "buy" players (in his words), that's fine... make your NIL offer that you feel is reasonable, and if they decline, move on to the next kid.

We wouldn't be in this position if it wasn't for poor defensive roster/coaching staff management.

Fix it... but don't try to create an excuse/narrative to use later.

Do we really want players who sell their eligibility to the highest bidder, anyway? We want to win championships. You need guys who actually care about winning and not guys who are looking for fast cash. I don’t blame players for looking for good NIL deals, but big NIL deals doesn’t translate to guaranteed production.

And LSU can match any NIL offer for a player they want. You can only say so much. LSU can actually DO something about it.
