Our offense will stay on the feild and keep our d fresh. They wont be able to run on us.How hard was that to understand? A smart person could figure out i just made a typo.

They lost N. Devine. He was sick, who do they have now? Not anyone that's going to do anything to us anyways. WVU needs to get a clue.

They have a very weak rushing attack but Geno Smith is a good QB.

that is true, but as I said in the lead post to this thread....they really don't know us....

think about the number of games on a big stage we've started out behind and come back to kick arse big time....this is a special LSU team and I don't think that WVU has the horses to keep up for 4 quarters....

To beat LSU, all that's needed is:
quote:

A better O-line and more depth on D-line and LBs. We have a week to fix it.

Same formula as always.
Make them look disorganized, beat em physically, sustain long head-cracking drives, win by nine points and leave the country saying "LSU aint all that".
Lather, rinse, repeat.

The only thing that kept us from winning by three scores was our abysmal passing game.

This.

We had multiple chances to put that game out of reach and our offense could not get out of their own way.

The lack of a run game spells death against a team like LSU, no matter how good your QB is. Our DEs wiill be chasing Smith all night, and the CBs and Safeys will be alble to drop into coverage KNOWING that you can't do anything else. WVU may be better than MSU, but check the end of that game for an example. They eeked out some yards and drives until they got behind and time got short. Once they became one-dimensional, the game completely changed. The LSU D absolutely squashed them. It was like 12 on 11 out there. The QB ran for his life, and threw into very tight coverage, resulting in a pick, some close calls, and tip aways.

It doesn't matter if you have a new staff. Your boys don't have the goods up front, and WVU's attrocious running stats against sub par competition so far says that loud and clear. Against the LSU front 7, that is bad freakin news. I think Smith is a really good QB, but one guy can't do it alone. I honestly don't see Smith finishing this game. If WVU can't find a way to run and get us out of constant blitz mode, then he is going to get killed out there.

I don't see LSU blowing WVU out on the road. Things like turnovers and momentum playing on the road can definitely have a balancing effect. Although, keep in mind that LSU isn't having the same execution issues on O that they did last year. With the exception of one drive against MSU, they executed well on the road, with only one turnover. Thursday night games are notorious for road upsets, but LSU controlled the game throughout, even when the score was tight. Sure, it's Starkville, but they were pretty jacked up considering we had beaten them 17 out of the last 18 games, and those damn cowbells do get loud. All in all, it was good preparation for going to WVU. If LSU doesn't make mistakes on O and can make WVU one-dimensional, then the Tigers should leave West VA with a 10-14 point victory.
