I've been a big fan of Deion Jones over the years. He is without a doubt been our best special teams tackler over the last 3 years. He always seems to make an impact on the field in the few snaps he gets. Plus he has bulked up over the last few years. Will we really miss Alexander if he leaves?

An SEC team needs more than one star LB. In fact, you need more than three great ones.

I like your enthusiasm about Jones, and hope he would be able to be almost as good as K. Alexander, but having both would be best.

Love Debo but he's been a reserve LB for a reason. You'll see all his flaws exposed on every down. Kwon is definitely better so yes, we'll be losing a lot of production. He's our best LB.

Yes. He's been outstanding since given his chance.

If he's been a reserve for a reason then what's the reason welter started for so long?

It would be a mistake for Kwon to declare

tough call. hard to replace that experience alone, but we've had a couple LBs shine in their first yrs starting after having only been special teamers. Baker in 2010 (taking over at Will for Perry Riley), and then Lamin taking over for Baker in 2012.

I've always kinda wondered why Debo hasn't played Sam, since that where Chavis generally sticks the smaller, safety-sized LB of the bunch. really wanted to see a Debo - Kwon - Beckwith combo headed into the season (never been big on Louis, but he looked better late this yr).

I hope Kwon stays and believe he should. He is not getting much love on the draft projections. Debo has made plays when playing, but Chavis must see some missed assignments at times. I'm glad LSU has Debo.

Ryan Baker. he put up the best season by an LSU OLB in recent memory in 2010, but not so much in 2011 as a senior (our sick arse 2011 DBs had something to do with that).

No, it wouldn't. The kid has shown improvement every season with this season being the best and his breakout. There is no need for him to come back. He has performed well all 3 season with the 3rd season having it all come together. You have to be smart when you are in this situation. Sure, you would love to help the team win an NC, but you risk injury and all when comin back. Something that could really derail his draft stock.

Yes. Kwon is the man and holding this defense together this year.
