Realistically, I would put the trust of my development ahead of childhood dreams. I would choose:

Ohio State
Bama
Clemson

Would not trust Coach O for that. I believe the recent LSU player to the NFL are based on sheer god-given talent. Not CEO led development.

And I don't get the allure of Ohio State for someone who grew up in the south. If you're used to that culture and weather thats one thing but thats a tough place to live man.

LSU only, better question would be if that's not an option.

1. Clemson - really dont play anyone significant till the playoffs so you'll be rested entering the NFL
2. Bama - Exposure and the proven ability to win Championships
3. Ohio - See #1.

If we're being realistic.

What non-ivy degree will get me the most attention in the area in which I want to live after my NFL aspirations die from partying too hard?

Utah,
BYU, or
Anywhere in Northern California.

If I still have legitimate NFL prospects in four years, the league will still find me at any of those places.

If I'm a smart kid (from anywhere): Stanford

If I'm a dumb kid from:
The South: Bama
West: Oregon
Midwest/East Coast: Ohio State

A better question is: Where would you go if you were a 3 or 4 star? It gets a little harder in the decision making process.

I mean, as a 5 star guy you have a serious decision to make for you and your family. Really a 2 or 3 star guy has a little more freedom because not so much is expected. Think about it, you have to go to a school that will prepare you for the NFL. We really need to slide into our recruits cleats to develop a recruiting program.
I was a LSU fan in high school so 100% it wouldn't be Bama.

LSU
USC during the Carroll years
Texas during the 2000s/Oregon during the Chip Kelly years

If only now

LSU (NFLSU)
Ohio St (any non QB position)
UGA/Oklahoma

Ahhh a good engaging question.

Don't think the number of stars make any difference. But let's say a 5 Star is really thinking of going to the pro's and not just bangin a pro. And let's say that our heart has nothing to do with it.

1. Clemson.... they develop players for the league, ya gonna be playing for the natty, and the school is really good academically. Your degree means something when you come back for it.
2. The Ohio State.... same as above....
3. Bama... they develop, you playing for the natty... but your degree is like TP.
4 Umpteen tie for 4th.... LSU, USC (west coast one), Oregon, OU. Definite step below the top tier on average as far as playing for Natty or degree.
5. Location Schools.... Colorado, Hawaii, Miami, UGA or UTexas... places that would be a blast to go spend 4 years and, you know, NFL gonna find me anyway if I'm good enough.

I hate to say this but if I wanted to win I go to Bama no contest. When was the last time a 4 year player at Bama did not get a ring?

Probably depends on what part of the country you grow up in.

Being from La I’d say LSU.

If there was no home state advantage.
