Gotta make it to the championship game IMO. So at least two more wins.

No ain't happening. Committe puts more stock in regular season. Thats why Bertman never emphasized sec tourney. Paul puts to much into winning this tourney. Players burn out by time world series is played. Thats What a manager does

This "selection by committee" bullshite has got to stop!!!

Only in the world of academia would someone say that a universally top 8 ranked team (within the top 8 in nearly every poll) shouldn't be a top 8 host.

The top 8 teams should get automatic host. I don't care who or where they are. If the are all from the SEC, then so be it. If they are all from only two states, then so be it. If they are all team with home stadiums that seat only 800 people, then so be it.

Who determines what teams are the top 8 teams. You want the bcs in baseball?

I wish it were that simple but it's not. There's a regional format for a reason. Baseball isn't a money sport. There are almost 300 teams playing in D1. Many of them are small and can't easily afford traveling across country. They do it, but the presidents/ADs want to stay as close as possible. The committee is there to make that happen in a reasonable manner while still maintaining the integrity of the tournament by making sure the best teams still host. Many years, it's easier because the best teams are spread out. This year, Only 1 team west of the Mississippi deserves a top 8 seed. That's a problem. So you add a second and make a few teams travel half the distance they normally would have.

I somewhat agree with this. However, a championship is a championship, whether its regular season or tournament. I know they don't carry the same weight, but as a player if you get to be a part of a championship, it is special and something you never forget.

There are 6 "locks" for a national seed according to most sites and Texas Tech also will be tough to pass. LSU still has to overcome being the #5 seed from the SEC. It's a hard argument to make that you belong as a top 8 national seed when you are #5 in your conference. But if they win the tourney they have a good argument.
Need to root against Ole Miss, Virginia, Texas Tech this weekend.

Vandy ain't getting a national seed regardless, especially over us since we beat them in a series and they only locked in hosting a regional yesterday

The Vandy/Ole Miss winner we have to contend with, especially if Ole Miss. They took two of three against us. We almost swept Vandy, so less concerned about them. We still have work to do.
