I told some peeps at work today that if we do not play Bama in NC, although we have no control over whom we play, that it's gonna be 2003 all over again. Talking heads still think we wouldn't have beaten USC that year & if we don't beat Bama AGAIN this year, they will say the same. So, in essence, we need to hope for this "rematch" or we r faced with possibly 3 "questionable" BCS crystal balls. Bring Bama on!!
(Although I guess we didn't already beat them, they beat themselves, in their own house....)

If it were aperfect world, Saban would man up and tell everyone that if his team couldn't win its own division, much less its conference, they don't deserve to play in the NC. Same with us, LSU.... if we don't beat UGA in the SECCG, we won't deserve to play in the NC.

He'll say something about "didn't take of business when we had a chance" and move on.

Bama Nation however...

And the other 48 states saying "Well sure, you won the SEC West national championship, but Okie's offense was EPIC that year." People are going to be mad either way.

bullshite

if we win this year, no matter who we play in the NCG, we'll be in the conversation as one of the best teams ever.

nobody can scoff at our schedule nor the fashion in which we've dominated all our opponents.

Holding the crystal ball at the end of the year is all that matters. Also, do you honestly believe that anyone would split a national title between two teams, one of which already has beaten the other? That is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

there is nothing questionable about being the only undefeated BCS confr team. especially when the team that would be complaining about being left out is alabama who already lost to lsu at home(as everyone knows)

the arguement USC has is that they were of equal record and didnt get a shot. the same as all the teams have from O7.
no matter who LSU plays. Houston or a one loss team. LSU wins no one has an arguement.

Alabama can argue they are the #2 team and deserve the bid till they are blue in the face. but they would have NO arguemnt that they are robbed of a shot at the title if another team is picked being that they already lost to LSU(and if they had won they would have gotten their shot)

The only team that i can think of in recent history that has a REAL legit claim to being robbed of a chance at a crystal ball is 04 auburn.

This would BLOW the gumps minds. Les calls a presser, and says that we decline the invite.

Gumps: "What the hell are they trying to do? I'm keepin my eye on them sneaky SOB's."

I understand we potentially would have 3 crystal balls, but how can we go undefeated, hypothetically, beat all but Bama convincingly not be the unanimous Champ with no "ifs" involved for once? If our current resume was any other team in the nation, the media would be promoting them as one of the best ever. But.....LSU has to beat Bama one more time to prove it....

The Crystal Ball is all that matters...All these teams are part of the BCS and agree that The BCS Championship is what they play for. Bama has no argument if they are not picked to play in the championship. They were beaten at home...

The difference between then and now is that in 2003 LSU hdn't already beaten USC in their own stadium.

I am so sick of the whining from Gumpland. If the situation was reversed, they'd be saying EXACTLY the same things LSU fans are saying: you had your chance, now shut up.

Those analogies are awesome! Some of them are actually pretty creative. Terrible, but creative.

14-0 greater than 12-1

have at it talking heads

that USC team was loaded and I very well believe they could have beaten us 5/10 times...since we never played it will remain open to speculation.

We beat bama AT bama...PERIOD
