NO.
I stated that I disagree with the idea of two teams from the same conference playing in the BCS Championship game BEFORE 11/5/2011. My reasoning was ifOSU and Michigan had played in a rematch in 2006 the nation would not have known just how good the SEC was and continues to be. There are not enough quality OOC games to be absolutely sure, without question, that the pollsters can be correct in their assumption regarding conference's relative strength.

Everyone cries for a playoff system. This year we basically had a playoff and eliminated Oregon and Alabama and everyone else we played. Now thats not good enough.

Best point in this whole thread. In college football, the regular season plus the conference championships are the playoffs. If some other team has beaten you out of your own division championship and your own conference championship then you don't deserve to play for the national championship.
I wouldn't care if the next best conference champion was 7-5... they should go before a division also-ran.
eta: I also dispute the contention that the BCS was intended to match the two best teams. It was NEVER intended as such.... it was intended to match the two teams with the best claim to the title.
