Why not run more 4 wide receiver sets out the shotgun and call quick pass plays? Wouldn't that help protect your line from having to pass block very long? I'd love to see the bigger WRs on the field like a lot of people clamored for and get some space for the RBs.

Canada said he would adjust to his personnel. Looks like the same shite of running in a phone booth and chucking it deep.

Legit question as to why this strategy would not be attempted.

I personally don't think the line is as bad as everyone is making them out to be.

I agree. Quick slants; bubble screens. Those require about .5 seconds of pass protection.

What's the problem on offense then? Other than one drive, they did not stay on the field against ms state.

You feel the scheme is working and there were just timely drops and penalties?

I am starting to think its not Canada and maybe it wasn't miles either.

It seems like their is a higher up with $$$ dictating what we do on offense because, all we ever do is run up the middle and throw it deep for the last 10 years.

Everyone including myself, believed that coach O and Canada would come in and change this philosophy. I believed that we would throw slants, screens, to the middle of the field, back shoulder throws etc etc.

I expected the running game to be unpredictable and shifty with misdirection.

After BYU and Chat, I bought in to the "we only used 10%" of the offense crap and obviously that was false.

Saturday we did not run anything different than we did the first two games and it was a huge let down.

Les Miles broke me, I havnt been excited for LSU football in several years, because I knew that the same ole shite was going to march out on the field.

This year, I was excited and ready to see a refreshed product that could rival the bama's and ohio states of the college football world.

I knew we had a tallent drop off but I figured we would be ok. I never expected us to go 15-0 but, never in a million years did I expect to lose to State especially by 30 points.

There is no recovering from this. for me, the season is shot. LSU is horrible and the 90's are coming back. Sure we may beat a number one team one week, but we will lose to an un-ranked team by 30 the next.

Idk it just seems like things would be different with totally new coaches and everything, that we would have a different product on the field other than having the same ole shite. So maybe its TAF or somone high up calling the shots, IDK anymore.

Do we have the personnel to pass and catch quick passes?

I think Danny can make short throws and ensminger last year called more intermediate routes if I recall.

It looks like Myles can sling the potato too if Danny can't do it, our RBs can catch and there are potential freaks at WR.

It looks like another coordinater not utilizing the talent thus far.

If the O-line is not good, smoke and mirrors will not make it work better...

I think it be simpler and better suited, not smoke and mirrors.

95% of cfb is running "smoke and mirrors".

I'm more surprised you don't see any rollouts, screens, or flares to the RB or WR.

And although we hear that the OL is in the top of the country every year, that seems to be a recurring event.

Just how hard is it to realize that you can't let a D lineman have free access to your quarterback?? They've had plenty of time to learn the zone blocking technique that seems to fail more than it works.
The one common denominator of the OL for the last few years is Grimes.

The Oline is not bad. It just isn't great. They will get better. We certainly need Etling looking at short and medium routes more. They're there.
